Prada Introduction “I love fashion, but I think it should stay in its place, not rule your life. It's a very nice part of your life, but I think it should be fun.” --Miuccia Prada. This value makes Prada be a family business and transforms it into one of the most famous and successful leaders in the luxury market worldwide. The first Prada luxury store was set up by Mario Prada in Milan, Italy, in 1913, which sold handbags, suitcases and some cortical accessories. In 1978, originator’s (Mario Prada) granddaughter – Miuccia Prada cooperated with Patrizio Bertelli who had a lot of experience on luxury production. After 20 years, due to its unique design, handcrafted making, high quality raw materials and experienced techniques, Prada became more and more famous in Europe rapidly. In 1977, Patrizio Bertelli established I.P.I spa to integrate and manage the production resources. Then, I.P.I spa was improved through following few years, and finally it was merged into Prada spa in 2003. In 1983, the Prada family set up its second store in Milan and the range of products is wider, not only those leather goods but also footwear and clothes. Nowadays, Prada has already become the leader in luxury because of its design, production and distribution network. Its products include luxury handbags and wallet, leather goods, footwear, clothes, accessories, sunglasses and perfumes. With the development of Prada, it owns some other international brands such as Miu Miu, Car Shoe and Church’s. Prada has many world famous designer design goods for it and this will always become the new fashion trend. On The production side, Prada has its own 11 directly managed facilities of which ten in Italy and one in United Kingdom for producing each of its product categories.
