The Spanish aims and their attitudes had a huge effect on the Americas and their conquests were one of the history’s biggest turning points. Ever since Christopher Columbus discovered America, the aims for the Spanish were to gain control over their riches, land, religion, and resources. For example, the Spanish wanted to exploit gold, spices, and even their people, for slavery. Having heard the rumors of wealth and riches in the Americas, many conquistadors were motivated to have a journey.

Section D Analysis In the beginning, the British first arrived in America in order to conquer more land under the British name. The British realized this was not possible after the Native Americans refused to give up their land. An “Indian removal” policy was put into action and the Natives began to be removed from their lands and relocated onto “camps”. The Native Americans felt threatened for their land by the colonists. It was stated that one of their reasons to fighting was that the colonists made them do it and they pushed their buttons, so to say, that they had no choice but to fight them. In addition to the colonists being very religious so were the Native Americans. As stated in the book the Native Americans said their reason for fighting was that God was on their side and told them to fight and kill and burn down houses. The Indians were depicted to be very violent by the colonists.
