On one hand, Margot is fashionable and presents herself well. Furthermore, she is “kept” by her husband in a state of luxurious affluence. Ironically, she is not “well-kept” by her husband at all, as she freely and unapologetically commits adultery. Her marriage to Francis Macomber is obviously not a happy one, but she refuses to divorce him because of his money, but Francis cannot divorce her because of her beauty. Margot is delighted when Francis runs from the lion; because she thinks it would give her more psychological control over him.
During the sixteenth century in Italy, marriages were pre-arranged by the parents and/or guardians, whether or not their children had passionate feelings for each other. Such is the case in William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. The prospective groom, County Paris, actually appears to love his intended wife Juliet, who, unfortunately for Paris, loves another man—Romeo. Under scrutiny, Paris’s love for Juliet rings false, while Romeo only professes his own love more deeply. Paris’s insincere love does no justice to his case; in fact, it serves to further illuminate the legitimacy of Romeo’s adoration.

Some of them are good like Desdemona and some are corrupted like Bianca and Emilia. Desdemona is the girl who marries a man who her father does not approve. She marries an outsider even though she knows that when she does this she is going against her family and even against society. In her eyes there is nothing wrong with her marriage and she loves Othello with all of her heart. Her love is pure and sweet and nothing that happens in this play sways that love.
Love drives the heart of the story. Nicks love for his cousin and his new found friends. Gatsby’s love for Daisy, Toms love for Daisy as well as his woman on the side, Myrtle and of course Myrtle’s husbands love for her, which leads him to the tragic ending of the film. The Classism is clearly shown that Gatsby’s soul reason for desiring and acquiring wealth is solely to capture the woman of his dreams heart by means of showing he can continue the rich and lavish lifestyle she has grown used to while married to her rich polo player of a husband. Also shown by the poor car mechanic husband of Myrtle being happily married and in love with his woman while the rich Tom comes around to woo his wife away secretly on her desire for a more financially stable and available man in her life.
Cleopatra VII used her charm, wisdom and sexuality to rule and increase her kingdom through the help of men who were medley in love with her. Benvolio then suggests Romeo to attend a Capulet gathering where Rosaline will be outmatched by other beautiful girls but Romeo says that his affection for Rosaline will not change. The moment Romeo meets Juliet, his previous lovesick and depression are gone instantly as he quickly falls for Juliet. Romeo thinks of Juliet’s beauty as “I ne’er saw true beauty ‘til this night”, and swiftly makes plans to approach her regardless to the hatred between the two families. On the other hand Juliet is much more consistent throughout the play. At the beginning, Juliet remains not interested in love before and after meeting Paris, an eligible bachelor worthy for her.
v line 60). However, Juliet had a different love at first than Romeo; Juliet was more cautious, “dip toes in the water, then dive in.” In my own opinion, I feel that how much you are attracted to someone physically can make you feel as though you were in love, although it would be stupid to act so rash and quickly. The moment that Romeo sees Juliet he states that he is in love. He asks himself if he has ever loved till now (act i sc. v line 59), completely forgetting about Rosaline.

Desdemona, daughter to senator Brabantio has spurned the advances of eligible young Venetian men, but is captivated by Othello chiefly because of his harsh experiences. We first come to learn about Othello's admirable nature when he is confessed by Brabantio in an unruley racist manner. Brabantio learns the news that his daugther had married Othello, He had never expected Othello to "steal" his daughter. Furthermore, Desdemona's father argues that her love for Othello is unnatural, since, according to him, Desdemona would never fall for a black man who she "fear'd to look on."
