Everyone is aware of the stereotypical bully, large and mean looking fashioned in dark colors. What happens when those bullies grow up and enter the work place? Once you enter the adult world a bully is not easy to spot. It could be anyone from your boss to the guy in the mailroom. Most bullies have the same or at least similar personality types and personality traits. Bullies fall into three different categories; aggressive bullies, passive bullies, and bully-victims. I believe that bullies start young and if they are not stopped at a young age it can follow them to adulthood. Once a bully is within a company it can cost the company major problems and it needs to be fixed and addressed right away. Although it may be too late for those who have been bullies their entire lives and have permanently adopted the personality traits of a bully. Aggressive bullies live up to their name. They behave in such a way that they come off aggressive, they belittle others with words and in some cases they physically abuse others. Some of the characteristics of aggressive bullies are impulsive, hot-tempered, belligerent, fearless, coercive, confident, lacking in empathy for their victims. Most aggressive bullies are physically strong. Aggressive bullies can be found in the work place. They are the biggest danger to places of business as they can make others feel unsafe going to work which in return can give others anxiety and make them unable to perform to the fullest of their potential. Aggressive bullies may tend to be more physical and tend to be narcissistic which as we saw in the documentary about Enron and can lead to the collapse of even the biggest and best companies around the world. These bullies aren’t always easy to spot especially in the work place. They tend to think very highly of appearances which play into their narcissistic tendencies. Most
