There are three main national initiatives which cover anti discriminatory practice they are; Conventions, legislation and regulations. Every care worker has a duty of care, Duty of care means making sure that every individual in there care is safe from harm. This means safe from abuse and neglect also. Always act in their best interest and act with confidence and assurance in what you do, do not take on any task or project that you feel cannot be done safely. Ask for help and support if needed, and only accept work when it is safe to do so. Duty of care also means that you need to protect confidential information on the individual and their family. To protect the individual from harm or infection should be everyone’s priority.
