But youth today are taking advantage of this lenient and outdated system and are committing violent crimes because they believe they will get off easy. Cocaine Kids showed how society views most drug dealer, with stereotyping them as gangsters with big gold rope necklaces, fresh kicks, and nice cars. It was a bigger chance that the Cocaine Kids would get caught because of where they lived, the areas that they stayed in promoted drug use. There was more of a risk of being caught for drug dealing that is why certain extensive procedures were followed in Cocaine Kids. It was to the degree of the market almost having its own “miniature society with institutions, laws, morality, language codes in behaviors of its own.” (Williams, pg.2). A person would think people with money would be looked down upon because they buy these illegal drugs but there is less stigmatizing because they have disposable money.
Federal Legalization of Marijuana Marijuana, weed, cannabis, hemp, or grass, it is called by many names and has gotten a bad rap in the past few decades, but it should be federally legalized. We have been encouraged to believe it is a “gateway” drug and that it may lead to addiction and various health issues. Yet there are many therapeutic benefits as well as practical applications. The consumption of marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol and smoking cigarettes. There is an excessive amount of money spent every year on its regulation, criminalization and prohibition.
The public is able to buy them at their free will resulting in drugs corrupting schools and America’s youth. The age regulation of drugs would have a positive effect on the drug use of America’s youth, it would be much harder for them to get. Today, it’s a lot more common to witness a drug deal happen in school rather than someone selling alcohol or cigarettes. It is extremely dangerous to drug users because there is no regulation, making a lot of buyers unaware of the potency of the drug or if some other drug is it. This is the main reason for overdose in America, the majority of the people that use drugs are not always sure on what really is in it.
Juvenile crimes are one of the most common problems that have negative consequences on any community. Juvenile crimes refer to the crimes that are perpetrated by individuals who are under the adult age. Statistical analysis indicated that this number grows daily. This has triggered the government to seek intervention measures to help reduce the increasing trend and hence safeguard the society against future offending. This because such children who have records of crime develop to become uncontrollable gangs in the society.

Activists on Prescription Drug Abuse Around the world there are so many teens looking to get drugs. A big part of them abuse prescription drugs for a non-medical purpose to alter the way they think or use their mind, and it can even leave them in a dependent state (NIDA, 2008). They choose most prescription drugs mainly for how accessible they are. They go into any drug store and can pick up even a cold medicine to go on a trip. The reason it is such a big problem is because it can lead to over dosing and possible dying.
Customs officers are expected to do their job and put a stop to the drug trafficking but the temptation of making some extra money may be extremely strong. Money is the root of all evil and a lot of people are very selfish.
