As an office manager I need to be evaluating the work flow process of the office, making sure not only does it run smoothly but also efficiently. As in most companies we had a manual filing system, we printed the invoices attached all backup paperwork and file in a manila folder for that customer. As we grew and technology advances the CEO wanted a more efficient way to maintain customer's files. We are growing and also moving to custom built office and warehouse location.
When recruiting for Care Workers we advertise in our local papers for each of our areas, we currently cover 3 areas, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. We have recently just completed a recruitment mail drop, where leaflets were printed off and Royal Mail then delivered them to certain post codes, this proved very successful. Potential recruits then phoned us, we then sent out an invitation to an open day, each area had different dates and times for there open days, on the recruitment day a DVD was played which gave an insight into what the job entails. Those that were still interested after the DVD has finished then stayed on and had a chat and were given an application form and interviews were also being booked. In the past we have also had recruitment stands in local shopping areas.

Journal #5 Clinical today was a catch up day, I did attend a Quality and Patient Safety Committee (QPSC) Meeting and a Quality and Accreditation Department (QAD) Meeting. During the QPSC meeting a member updated us on a complaint made to The Joint Commission (TJC). It was interesting to hear how the complaint was handled and the fact that the people involved in the complaint actually traveled to the patients’ home and met with the family. I had never heard of a complaint being handled that way and was quite impressed. The rest of the QPSC meeting was discussion of updates as was the QAD meeting.

As a group we all decided pretty quickly on The USF Wellness Center located at the heart of campus in the Marshall Student Center. I sent out a brief email to the director of the Wellness Center, Mrs. Jennifer Parker, and followed up with a drop in at her office explaining to her about the Grant Project that we were assigned. A week later I emailed Mrs. Parker again requesting to see if she had any available time to meet with me. Later, that week I found myself speaking to a very enthusiastic woman with a plethora of insight on what to look for in a grant that the Wellness Center may actually use.

What I see, what I know, and what I display to those students around me in the school environment lets me know that I truly am a people person. I love helping others regardless of race, gender, religion, disabilities, adults, children, and so on and so forth. That is just the personality that I carry. What I do believe is that being raised by a GOD fearing woman, who strongly stands firm by his word, has taught me many things.
