The problem of overweight and obesity results from an excessive accumulation of fat that exceeds the body’s skeletal and physical standards. A person gains weight when the number of fat cells in the body increases. These fat cells first increase in size and then increase in numbers. An average size person has about 30-35 billion fat cells.

Sandwiches are a better choice because they maintain a lot of carbohydrates. This would fill the children up and keeps their brain functioning. On the food pyramid carbohydrates are at the bottom this is because you need to intake carbohydrates than any other food group. Having a piece of fruit would be good to have as its one of your 5 a day, and they contain the nutrients your body needs. Fruit is good for our bowels and would help the children go to the toilet regularly, this would prevent constipation.
Not exercising can cause more serious issues then you think. Not only will you gain weight over time, but you have greater risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. For those who do exercise, they get the benefits that all could get. The benefits are the decreased blood pressure, live a longer life, have a better mood, less risk to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. The reason why those who exercise live, because they are not getting fat over time as someone would be by just sitting at the couch all day.

Obesity on the Rise Over the years obesity has posed a major threat to lives of Americans and other individuals around the globe. The rates have continues on the rise, even with the many efforts put forth to diminish it. Obesity is an extremely serious matter. It often leads to an increased risk in the development of many health problems and may result to taking the lives of those who have been consumed by it. There is no target age during which it strikes, leaving it possible for individuals in all age groups to become obese.

Portion sizes have increased, fast food has become a cheap and convenient alternative for dinner, and children’s social lives have deformed into web-based. The responsibility to prevent and repair childhood obesity is primarily on the shoulders of parents, government, and children themselves.
