Another concept that was discussed at great length was the effects domestic violence places on victims. It can and does have a great impact on the quality of life and health for individuals who are targets of domestic violence. Studies have suggested that women who are victims of intimate partner violence may experience difficulties in many areas of life including coping skills, effective parenting, employment opportunities, and successful intimate relationships in the future. Children of these women who witness the abuse of a parent are also more likely to repeat these behaviors when they reach adulthood.
