My First Day

My first day of elementary school was absolutely horrifying. The first time around I went to High Point elementary school. I was introduced to new children that I despised. My classwork was completed early half the time so I just sat quietly waiting. To me this school was unenjoyable. I interacted with few friends but only for a short amount of time. It seemed like eternity though. One day I came home and my wonderful mother told me that I had to go to a new school again since we were moving. Apparently Oakwood elementary was closer to my new neighborhood. This news was a mixed feeling I was ecstatic to leave but I would miss my old friends. My first day there I was late. The counselor brought me in right in the middle of carpet time. I was so embarrassed; my face turned a cherry red. Everyone’s eyes were piercing right through me. The teacher welcomed me and told me to sit down. She was in the middle of reading a book. Even though the first day was rough I made a lot of new friends. Some to this day I still converse with. The teacher had a certain way of teaching. I mean we were only in kindergarten but she seemed really strict. Her way was what you were to follow. I seriously got screamed at for putting a cat puzzle together wrong. I was not the only one that pushed her buttons. Besides that she was an excellent teacher. Everything I learned came so easily because she actually took her time to explain. To my surprise I was able to make new friends. Most of the time I was bashful but I learned it would make everything complicated to be like that. The students accepted me for who I was; back then we were all friends. After that it all became easier to talk to each other. I learned valuable skills by moving around. Little did I know I would have to do it again for first grade? The classes then would have some from last year and some from another class. I used
