Music And How It Affects People “Keep listening to the music, because it gets you through everything, I promise.” –Mitch Lucker. Music is everywhere; it’s in our day to day lives, such as, in the car, in the bus, through your headphones. It holds things, messages, stories, hope, and even pain. It portrays love, beauty and care. There is, however. A discrepancy towards music. The kind you hear on the day to day radio is not what this oratory is going to be about. It’s going to be about the kind that some members of society deem as, ‘satanic’, ’garbage’, and ‘stupid.’ I’m speaking sort of blindly; I don’t know what your take on this type of music is. Maybe you don’t mind it, maybe you hate it, and maybe you’ve never really cared enough to have a thought on it. All of those fine. Being as one of the thousands of people that love this kind of music, I have the mindset that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and why shouldn’t they be? It’s when people start to hurt other people with their opinion that it becomes unnecessary. You never really know the kind of damage you’re doing to that person. Words may be just that, but as all people know they hurt. I’m not trying to stand up here and say that I’ve never cast hurtful words, I’m not perfect. But I strive to be the better person. It’s hard and often times I feel I’ve failed, but that doesn’t keep me from waking up and trying again every day. For some people music is all they have to turn to. It’s the only thing that is stable in their life. And it’s a form of escape, a release and a comfort. The members of this music world are what inspire people to keep going through their life, to never give up hope, and that life can and will get better. Those are the people that inspire me every day.
