“How I See a Modern Family” These days, it seems that a traditional family structure is disappearing and the modern family is going to replace it. The family used to be formed by grandparents, the parents, their brothers and sisters and their kids, living together in the same house. But now modern families formed by the father, the mother and their children, live in a single house without the rest of their family. In a modern family each member is very independent, being able to work and provide for themselves. Both the parents share the expenses, provide for their family, and also share the responsibilities, such as doing work at home and taking care of their children. Older children can also work and help the parents with their expenses. In the past children were often very dependent on their parents and could always be at home with their mother taking care of them, while the father was busy at work. Another advantage of living in a modern family would be that both men and women can have more freedom to choose their own educational career. For example, after graduating high school, one can decide to continue with their education or not. Some may choose to go to a University and live on campus, while others can choose to study away from their home. Whichever decision they choose, the parents would normally be supportive. On the other hand, in the past, parents were allowed to stop their sons from going to school and could force them to work. Parents could also make their children go into a career, without caring if they liked it or not, and they could even stop them from studying away from home if they wanted. At this point, I would define a family from two looks. One look is based on the U.S. Census Bureau and the other look is based on personal achievements.
