I am hoping that this program will provide me with the tools and courage to start a new career. I am hoping to learn the tools to become a great leader. By reading the Quantative Reasoning for Business Overview document, I have a greater understanding of what I will be prepared for with regard to future courses that I must take including Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Research. The QRB course will directly aid me in my future in Corporate America and as a self-employed entrepreneur.
How did you get into this field? I previously worked at Ryerson as a HR Assistant, and with that experience I updated my resume with the help of the services offered at Ryerson to students. Eventually, when I graduated I applied on all Internet job sites I could possibly find. After posting my resume on Monster jobs I was contacted by Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. for an interview, and I completely forgot I had even posted it there. My interview was a success and now I have been working for Broadridge about a year and a half now.
The first reason is because a lot of people want a job that will pay very good money. By going to college, you will have the hands-on learning education you need to start your chosen career. This is a huge reason why a lot of careers require you to have at least a two or four year degree. Another reason why college matters is because it helps students boost their confidence level out in the real world. There are countless things that people have to do every single day in life so going college will help give you a better idea of what the definition of life really is.

Amber Murray Snap Caps Maddie Bradshaw established M3 Girl Design, LLC, in 2006 when she was 10 years old. Since then, her business has grown generating 1.6 million dollars of revenue in 2008 and currently is making over 5million dollars in sales. [ (Cheney, 2009) ] Although Maddie is the creator of M3 girl design, she runs the business with her sister Margot and their Mom, hence the name M3. Maddie is responsible for the creation of Snap Caps, “the original interchangeable bottle cap necklace.” She has extended her products to boot “huggers”, hair bows, keepsakes, stationery, memo boards, picture frames and bracelets. M3 girl designs have also created “Sparks of Life” which is tailored towards mature teenage girls.
I believe the graduate program at George Mason University is the best fit for me since it will help me continue the journey toward my ultimate career goal, a journey that began early in my life. Since the first time I laid eyes on financial charts as a young girl, I have been fascinated by finance related topics. This curiosity led me to focus my studies at the University of Virginia on commerce with an emphasis on finance and information technology. During that time, to gain practical experience and insights, I held several internships that covered every part of the business, from finance and accounting to data management. Upon graduation I accepted a full-time position at SAIC, where I spent the first three years in FP&A managing the finances for two independent operations with combined annual revenue of nearly $160M, over 100
I have been in the retail business my whole professional career and felt that a business degree would help me achieve my goals. My main goal is to own my own business and strive for the American dream. I like retail for the fact that you get to work with the community and get to know your customers. With a good customer base, your business with thrive. Without a good customer base your business with go under.
LIFE EXPERIENCES As I have experienced many things in my life, I am now more prepared to go through my degree program because of my personal desire to be successful. I have the full support of my immediate family that matters most to me. Although I am just beginning on my journey to a degree with Ashford University, the staff has been very helpful and supportive in helping find the right program and get started on the right track. My previous school experience in the traditional setting, as well as, online has prepared me to continue my higher learning education
