Worsham 1 Worsham 1 Vivian Worsham Mrs. Rakers LA2 Due October 22nd The Success of Miley Cyrus “It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success” (Gladwell, 30). This quote about success goes along very well with the story of Miley Cyrus, the famous actor and singer, and how she became successful. Even though Miley is a fabulous singer and a great actor, those are not the only reasons for her great success. Miley is successful because she got many opportunities that other kids didn’t have and has many has gained many of practice because she started so young. Miley Ray Cyrus was born on November 23rd, 1992, and her parents are Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus (Miley Cyrus Biography, 1). Miley has 5 siblings, 2 sisters and 3 brothers (Miley Cyrus Biography, 1). Her father, Billy Ray became an active singer in 1990 and his first big album came out in 1992 (Miley Cyrus Biography, 1). Although some people call him a one hit wonder, he knew the industry and had the connections to help a second generation succeed. (Miley Cyrus Biography, 1). Having a childhood with her father being Billy Ray Cyrus and her Godmother, Dolly Parton, who is also very famous, Miley, with any motivation of her own, was bound to be successful. Miley was around music since the day she was born, not many kids get that experience. “People don't rise from nothing. We do owe something to parentage and patronage,” (Gladwell, 19). This quote relates with the success Miley Cyrus. She owes so much to her parents; her family has impacted her life through many things, especially her father.
