He creates his own soundtrack through a series of mix tapes full of iconic songs, reads a huge stack of classic books that his English teacher give him because he see that Charlie can go very far in his future. When Charlie was younger he lost his favorite person in the whole world, his aunt Helen. She died in a car accident on his seventh birthday, she was on her way to buy Charlie a birthday gift. Ever since then he feel like it was all his fault. But he finds out she molested him when he was younger.
When Carrey was in junior high school, his teachers quelled his bad behavior by letting him share some of his comedy routines with the class. His father Percy lost his job as an accountant when Carrey was 14 and the family fell on hard times. The family had to move into the Toronto suburb of Scarborough. From the beginning of their meeting Estella is cruel, treating Pip like he is not worth her time or even anyones. Even with the way that Estella treats Pip he's drawn to her from the start, thinking she is very beautiful and very callous at the same time. Pip thinks that “She seemed much older than I, of course, being a girl, and beautiful and self-possessed; and she was as scornful of me as if she had been one-and-twenty, and a queen.” (45) Pip has to spend time with Estella, playing whatever games that Miss Havisham request of them, he is okay with this because even with all the insults she gives him, he simply enjoys her company. Park asks Eleanor to sit next to him on the bus and they have an instant connection. On the ride Park learns eleanor is living in a small house with 4 siblings and a step dad that beats her mother. Soon they swap mixtapes, hold hands and fall in love. Although their relationship seems to be blooming, Eleanor is forced to deal with an unknown bully who keeps writing obscene comments on her school supplies. Eleanor tries to hide from Richie, her awful step dad at Park’s house but Park’s mother doesn’t seem to accept Eleanor until she learns about her home life and from then on Park’s parents are supportive and caring to Eleanor.
Charlie’s Aunt Helen was his “favorite person in the whole world.” However, she died after a terrible car accident. Charlie’s dad, who Charlie describes as “a very proud and strong person”, inhibits the attitude of whatever he says goes. Charlie describes his mom as “emotional, but loving.” His brother plays football at Penn State and hardly comes home unless he must. Charlie never gets along with his sister. She dates a boy secretly due to an incident where Charlie saw her boyfriend hit her.
Lucky seems happy to be working for Dove as well as living with him and there seem to be a light ahead for him. Yet after a couple of deals gone wrong, and the breaking of a rule Dove had made, Lucky is shot in the head. Firstly I want to discuss if his lifestyle was chosen by himself or if it just was a path he was set upon. Lucky is only fifteen years old. He’s living at home in the beginning, but gets kicked out by his parents because of his drug addiction.
