Also the fact that teens are so rough towards one another there brains aren’t thinking on what can happen if there physical towards people violently. Adults sometimes complain that were not adults yet, reasons why we can’t drive, buy alcohol, nor vote. In Paul Thompson’s article, “Startling Finds on Teenage Brian” published in The Sacramento Bee stated, “While research on brain-tissues loss can help us to understand teens better, it cannot be used to excuse their violent or homicidal behavior. But it can be used as evidence that teenagers are not yet adults, and the legal system shouldn’t treat them as such”. Jurors should think while there in court that treating teens as adults is something pretty much unfair, because why try teens as adults if there not even close to one.
Many in society would view being consistent as a very good trait and something that everyone should do. When someone is always changing their mind it is usually looked down upon in society. People who are firm in their beliefs and don’t change their mind are looked as great people and are great for sticking what they believe in. If a public figure had a strong viewpoint on something, but changed their viewpoint they would receive great criticism and lose lots of fans. Emerson’s view on consistency is, once again, completely different form the average view from society.
There are ways to fight this huge problem of indifference and it can be stopped. Indifference is a very dangerous problem that leads to very dangerous situations. Indifference is when people know of horrible events happening, but choose to stay silent or not take action. If something terrible is happening and people do not try to stop it, it will continue to happen. Until people choose to stop indifference and start caring about others in the world, theses events will not stop.
Since teenagers are immature to make their own decision, it is vital for adults to inculcate a correct attitude towards drinking. Nevertheless, it seems that nowadays many schools and parents only focus teenagers’ academic development. They neglect teaching youngsters with a sense of individual responsibility after drinking. Because of ignorance and lack of education from adults, teenagers have not take health issues into account after drinking harder alcohol. As a result, the problem of alcohol abuse and drinking deaths become graver among college students.
Ever have that feeling of not being accepted into a certain group you really wanted to be friends with or join. Many high schoolers have been through this. The main high school cliques are the popular groups, nerdy groups, and the neutral groups. Whatever group you're in, it shouldn't matter. We've all been wanting to be friends with those couple of cool kids to feel fully accepted and that you actually matter.
The main reason that many people do not think the age limit should change is that underage kids will not be able to handle the freedom and will cause problems all over the country. In addition, younger kids will be able to get alcohol easier than before because they will be able to talk to seniors in high school about getting alcohol. Which could be true for high school kids, because the kids of age can charge them and make money from it. That being said, it may be a bad idea for the drinking age to be lowered to
My reasoning is because most don’t understand me, and they take my demeanor as cockiness. Cockiness can turn people off instantly. There is a saying that first impression is a lasting impression. Communication is vital and needed to get things accomplished. Lack of communications means lack of progression.
Some people challenge societies’ beliefs but those are few. It is in human nature to follow the rules of a society and satisfy the need to belong to a community. When one breaks those laws becomes an outcast and is rejected by society. Living alone is difficult therefore, most people tent to obey or compromise ideas of others. However, people who do stand up and defend their belief system create new movement, which eventually brings changes for the better.
In today’s society, everyone has their inalienable right to express themselves and be who they are. These rights, which allow us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, can never be taken away from us. However, people do not utilize these natural rights and often try to suppress their spirit in order to “fit in” with societies standards. This hedonistic culture conditions people to believe that showing your true emotions or opinions is “not cool.” People want to associate only with their “cliques,” such as the Alphas or Jocks. Often times, people become depressed and rely on anti-depressants to keep them sane, when all they have to do is be true to themselves and express themselves in a healthy way.
When someone tells me not to do something, it makes me want to do it more. If I'm allowed to do something I don't do it as much, because I know I can do it whenever, without consequences. Most teens are scared of getting caught and calling their parents to come get them, because they can't drive home. So teens get in their cars and drive home, avoiding getting in trouble. If the drinking age was lowered, they would legally be allowed to drink.
