Holden describes Stradlater as a sexy bastard and maybe think that Jane is too much of an innocent girl. This could be a sign of his post traumatic stress disorder that he developed after Ally’s death. Session analysis: Holden was pressured to do Stradlaters homework which he clearly did not want too. Holden has a problem of saying no or telling people what to do. He is showing how he just wants to be left alone sometimes.

This is obvious throughout the story because of his lack of connection with people, the stories he tells, and all the negative things he has to say about people. His negative personality definitely comes from his traumatizing experiences as a child, whatever they may be. Holden is an extremely mysterious person and its very clear because no one knows what is the truth and what is a lie when it comes out of his mouth. In the end, feeling bad for Holden is all thats left. It’s sad that he has lived his life so miserably but things might have been different if he acted more like the real Holden, was more truthful, and wasn’t so deceitful to everyone around

During the story it also describes their attempts to converse with an A&W employee, but no one will offer them consolation.

Every time someone dies, Victor feels more sorrowful and guiltier, yet he never reveals why he feels this way and quickly falls ill. He becomes a burden to those who care, as they have to take care of him. This time, it’s different, (which can be interpreted as an indicator that the climax is near), and by the end of the passage, Victor doesn’t feel that he’s helpless in this situation, in fact, he is determined to do something for his loved ones instead, and this time, Victor is not afraid of the monster, he will face the monster. This is indicated at the end of the passage, as Victor realizes that postponing the wedding will not bind the monster, and it may get revenge in some other, more horrifying way.
