I thought it ended in chaos and disrespect was again demonstrated by VP Biden. ObamaCare Biden- didn’t really discuss or back ObamaCare all he focused on was how Romney/Ryan was going to take a way Medicare and Medicare benefits. (Broken record) Ryan- Again tried to explain how Romney/Ryan would save Medicare and again Biden caused chaos and didn’t let Ryan get a full sentence out. I felt the debate was a little out of control at this time and Biden was being very rude and unprofessional. Abortion Ryan- was heartfelt honest on his view s of abortion, and pro-life choice.
From a non-biblical standpoint, it is based on whether a woman finds it ethically right to terminate a pregnancy and what effect it would ultimately have on her happiness. Therefore, abortion is not philosophically incorrect. In this paper, we will discuss how natural law, utilitarianism and ethical relativism cause opposition to these theories. Abortion is defined as: “The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy." However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as simple as the definition provided.
The movement of anti-abortion was created and was also expanding. Creating two sides: pro-life which are against abortion, stating that abortion is murder. They believe that the fetus is a person, and has rights like all humans, and shouldn’t be killed. And the other side is pro-choice, entailing that those against abortion are against choice. They don’t see the fetus as an individual, they think that it’s mother’s decision to stay pregnant or not.
Do you agree with the view that the conservative party was generally opposed to women suffrage? I do agree with the statement that the conservative party was generally opposed to the woman suffrage as the leaders of the party disagreed with votes for women and they opposed the liberal governments vote for women’s votes. Source 14 also suggests that the conservative party opposed the women’s suffrage as it states “…generally opposed...” This shows that the conservative party was opposed to the women’s suffrage, mainly due to the fact that they didn’t want to change their ethos, as this would of meant having to go about a new situation; when everything was going well already/ working out in the correct foreseeable manner. Source 15 also agrees with source 14 as it states “Arthur Balfour …not committed”, this shows that the conservative leaders were generally opposed to women’s suffrage. This also confirms with my knowledge in the fact that the conservative leaders were opposed to the women suffrage due to the fact that it would have meant them having to change their ethos, conservative never mentioned allowing women the right to vote in their manifestos.
Pro-life is the opposing argument to pro-choice, and that abortions should be made illegal like in Northern Ireland unless the mother’s life is at serious risk. Many Religions have the traditional view that abortion is a sin. It is argued that if a teenager becomes pregnant and has an abortion they may come to regret this in later life, because at the time they were only a minor. The argument for Pro-life is a choice by people who feel that it is wrong to take a man life, weather that human has been born or not is irrelevant. Abortion is seen as no different to murder.
Roman Catholicism teaches that ending a human being’s life in any circumstance is wrong because it goes against the sanctity of life which means that only God can take away life. For this reason, Roman Catholics would condemn abortion. Roman Catholics believe that conception is the point at which personhood begins which means that having an abortion at any stage is essentially committing murder and goes against the commandment “Do not kill” which means that abortion is intrinsically evil so there are no exceptions that would make it right. Pope John Paull II supported this idea, saying that “the human being is a person from the moment of conception”. They would therefore promote the idea that as a foetus is a person from conception, it therefore has a right to live just like every person and this right is more important than the mother’s right to decide what happens to her body.
Absolute morality is that something is always right or wrong no matter the circumstances and the view won’t change. It is absolute. An absolutist would say “abortion is wrong, no matter what.” This isn’t what everyone will believe but this is what an absolutist think is right and there is no circumstance that could change their opinion on that matter. Relative morality is when someone’s opinion on an action can change depending on the situation. For example, a relativist would say “abortion should be prevented, but can be allowed if it is the kindest thing to do.” An expectation can be applied to a situation if a teenage girl has been raped, and her future would be better without a baby as she cannot afford a child and the baby would not have a good life due to this.
"Although the foetus is to be specially respected and protected, nonetheless the life of the foetus is not absolutely sacrosanct if it endangers the life of the mother." Church of England - Board of Social Responsibility Report 1984 The Church of England does not morally agree with abortion, but often accepts it may be the only way forward for someone. They do not condemn someone who has an abortion, but would help a woman get through it, come to terms with it, and
One of the many issues the United States is dealing with is abortion, should it be legal or should it be illegal? Republicans are against abortions unless it was rape or something of that nature. They feel an unborn child has right just as well as a person living on earth and they feel no one should have their life taking from them because a person made the wrong choice or was just being irresponsible. However, on the other hand, Democrats feel abortion should be pro choice. They feel we as the government should not decide for any person and what they should do with their life due to a bad decision or a wrong choice.
The Catholic Church teaches that life is created and begins at the moment of conception and sees abortion as a way of terminating life. Catholics believe that deliberately committing such an evil is not and never will be justifiable, no matter the situation. For example, pregnancies that are a result of rape or are a danger to the life of the mother are not seen as reasons to abort a child. People have pointed out that the word “abortion” is not stated in the bible and that is true, but the moral lessons and teachings about it are there. Just as the word “Trinity” is not in the Bible, but it is certainly taught.
