Keeping the Dream Alive Everyone has their own dreams and aspirations, but what is a dream? A dream is like a goal and much stronger it’s something that you want that may seem hard to achieve. Dr. King had a dream that one day everyone will be treated equally and respect one another. Most people think that Dr. King fought for just blacks, but his movement was much more powerful. He fought for every woman and man to be equal. Dr. King wanted everyone to be able to use the same restrooms, water fountains, and parks and etc. April 4th, 1968 Dr. King devoted his life and time for us, but instead of being grateful for what Dr. King has done for us some are taking it for granted. Dr. King volunteered most of his life trying to make a change so we all can drink out of the same water fountains, use the same restrooms, eat at the same restaurant, live in the same neighborhood, go to the same school, and go to the same movie theaters as the whites and much more. He spoke out to millions of people explaining how he wanted us to all be treated equally and love one another. Dr. King was considered a hero, and he inspired others such as Rosa Parks and Thurgood Marshall to be active in the fight for equality. Although many people believed that Dr. King couldn’t make a change he ignored the negative and still strived to achieve his dream. Dr. King was inspired by Gandhi, and he used nonviolent methods of protest. What we owe him is respect by “Keeping the Dream Alive.” There are several things we can keep the dream alive such as stopping the stereotypes, getting educated on other cultures, helping one another no matter what race, stop judging racial couples, stop racial jokes and slangs, stop the violence and drug use. We also can help one another by motivating and pushing people to strive for success instead of killing and hating on one another. If we focus on making these
