Assignment: IVF In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a reproductive technology used by infertile couples where fertilisation of an egg occurs outside the woman’s body. A couple is considered infertile only after 12 months of unprotected and regular sexual intercourse. Some of the common causes of infertility are blocked or non-existent fallopian tubes because fertilisation occurs through the fallopian tubes, and if the tubes are blocked or non-existent, the birth process cannot occur and endometriosis which is when the womb’s lining is found covering the pelvic structures such as ovaries, bladder, and bowel, causing the irritation and inflammation which can lead to scarring.
