In earlier day’s gas stove, electric heater cooking was adopted in all the homes. There is no alternative way of cooking food. These two styles of cooking has its own disadvantages such as the gas stove in which the fuel which is used is LPG, this is a non-renewable source of energy which is limited in nature so its cost is also high similarly electric heater uses electric energy and it consumes more electric energy which makes our pocket unhealthy. So here comes the time to search for alternative equipment for cooking which will fit in the modern life style. First patents of induction cooker was dated in the early 1900s.For the purpose of demonstration these stoves were shown by the Frigidaire division of General Motors in the mid-1950s on a touring GM showcase in North America. The induction cooker was shown heating a pot of water with a newspaper placed between the stove and the pot, to demonstrate the convenience and safety. This unit was however never put into production. Modern implementation of this technique in the USA dates from the early 1970s, with the work done at the Research & Development Center of Westinghouse Electric Corporation at Churchill Borough, near Pittsburgh, That work was first put on public display in 1971 at National Association of Home Builders convention in Houston, Texas, as part of the Westinghouse Consumer Products Division display. The single-burner range was named the Cool Top Induction Range. Westinghouse decided to make a few hundred production units to develop the market. Those were named Cool Top 2 (CT2) Induction ranges. The development work was done at the same R&D location, by a team led by Bill Moreland and Terry Malarkey. The ranges were priced at $1,500, including a set of high quality cookware made of Quadra ply, a lamination of stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum and another layer of stainless steel
