Hybrid vs. Gasoline Vehicles

Hybrids and electric cars are the best invention since sliced bread, what do we do with sliced bread? We benefit ourselves or others with it, and that’s exactly what hybrids and electric cars are going to do for our atmosphere. We’re fighting for clean air, so come back at global warming with a hybrid or electric car to save our atmosphere with this atmosphere-saving miracle. Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, wildlife is scrambling to keep pace, and greenhouse gas levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years. Guess what, the environment was just fine 650,000 years ago before we came around and started messing with it! Are you going to sit back and let that happen to the wonderful world you live in? It's clear that people have caused the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. We did this to our planet, it’s time we pulled up our socks and cleaned up the mess we made. A hybrid car is a passenger vehicle that is driven by a hybrid engine, which is any engine that combines two or more sources of power, generally gasoline and electricity. There are two types of gasoline-electric hybrid cars; the parallel hybrid, and the series hybrid. Both use gasoline-electric hybrid technology, but in very different ways. In a parallel hybrid car, a gasoline engine and an electric motor work together to move the car forward, while in a series hybrid, the gasoline engine either directly powers an electric motor that powers the vehicle, or charges batteries that will power the motor. Both types of hybrids also use a process called regenerative braking to store the kinetic energy generated by brake use in the batteries, which will in turn power the electric motor. Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius produce 90% less pollutants than comparable non-hybrid cars. By putting less harmful
