Then start sniffing the room, when you get to your roommates side of the room then make a really bad face, then start spraying their side of the room with air freshener. Make sure that the air freshener smells terrible, and that it is very strong. Once done spraying their side of the room, look at your roommate and say I know it’s not your fault and that you cannot help it. Now this will annoy your roommate but not enough to get them to leave. Now remember that you do not stop doing any of these, you keep doing the first one, and just add all the others, this will drive your roommate absolutely insane.
In an instance of foreshadowing, she thinking, “Oh well, whatever goes over the Devil’s back, is got to come under his belly”(39) which means that she knows eventually Skyes will get what’s coming to him. Delia sets out to do her washing and passes by a group of men sitting at a store. The tone and focus of “Sweat” by Zora Neale Hurston changes for a while as the men comment on how pretty Delia used to be and how it’s such a shame that she’s beaten so often and lost her good looks. They talk about Syke’s behavior with the Bertha woman and generally frown upon him, with one saying, “There oughter be a law about him… He ain’t fit tuh carry guts tuh a bear.”(31) Clearly the whole town seems to have a negative reaction against Sykes. On her way back, Delia sees Sykes out front of Bertha’s telling her that he will buy her whatever she wants.
According to Sendaris, people do not want to hear “I’ll be right back” because it is “code for ‘Go fuck yourself’.” Sendaris adds satiric humor by stating “I should be used to the way Americans dress when travelling, yet still it manages to amaze me. It’s as if the person next to you had been washing shoe polish off a pig, and then suddenly threw down his sponge saying ‘Fuck this. I’m going to Los Angeles!’” He also pokes at Hitler by commenting how weird it was to hear “the name in the same sentence as the word ‘courtesy’. I imagined a man picking up the receiver, his voice made soft by surprise and the possibility of bad news ‘Yes. Hello, this is Adolf Hitler.’” As many people know, Hitler formed the Nazi culture and sparked the Holocaust that destroyed millions of lives.
There are several different stages to being a scavenger. The first is the New Scavenger, who is filled with disgust and self loathing and very ashamed to be seen Diving into Dumpsters. In which case they may try to lurk around, duck behind things or may even try to Dive at night, even though most people look away from scavengers and lurking only calls attention to themselves. The second stage comes with experience and the scavenger stops hating themselves. They begin to think they have the last laugh because they are finding perfectly good things in the Dumpsters and begin hanging on to things that they have no need of.
I decided to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger in the stall next to me in a public restroom. By doing so I broke one of the many an unwritten laws of public restroom etiquette that our society has created, such as washing your hands after going to the bathroom and avoiding sitting next to an occupied bathroom stall if other vacant stalls are available. Most people avoid socializing in public restrooms, talking to a person who is actively using a restroom facility can make them feel very uncomfortable, even more so if they are a stranger. I chose to violate this social norm as opposed to anything else because I figured it would be easier for my timid self to perform as it involved minimum face-to-face interaction and eye contact. I choose to violate the folkway of public restroom etiquette on campus at Pierce College.
An example of Sykes lack of morals is, “If you such a big fool dat you got to have a fit over an earth worm or a string, ah don’t keer how bad ah skeer you” (705). Cleary Sykes does not care if he hurts or scares Delia and continuous to scare Delia with his ruthless actions. Delia also has lack of morals. Delia shows her lack of moral by leaving her husband in the house

Dumpster diving In this selection, the author, Lars Eighner, tells about his personal experiences and opinions of Dumpster diving. This story is explaining the pros and cons of the Dumpster diving lifestyle and how to benefit from living off the wastefulness of other people. As a pro, Eighner states, that people throw away good things all the time, except for his jeans, all his clothes, boom boxes, candles, bedding, he acquired from Dumpsters. (pg. 22) Knowing what’s safe to eat, good locations, and having some knowledge and experience serves as big tools.
They would secretly inject themselves with the drug hiding in a bathroom stall hoping no one would notice. They believed they were becoming their dream image of themselves. Their performance was highly improving and the pressure to perform wasn’t there anymore. But what they did not notice was how nobody wanted to be around them because if something slightly bothered one of these people he or she would throw a tantrum like an infant child, but because of their size it could be dangerous. People knew and people avoided them just because wherever they went anger
Completely naked, these men, women, and children were then ushered into a large room that looked like a big shower room (there were even fake shower heads on the walls). When the doors shut, a Nazi would pour Zyklon-B pellets into an opening (in the roof or through a window) which would turn into poison gas once it contacted air. The gas killed quickly, but it was not instantaneous. Victims, finally realizing that this was not a shower room, clambered over each other, trying to find a pocket of breathable air. Others would claw at the doors until their fingers bled.
