Under his administration came great changes, starting with the establishment of the Cabinet in 1789. Washington created the Cabinet to help him through his job as the president. He said no one person could run the country by themselves. The Cabinet consisted of a secretary of state, treasury, war and an attorney general. Many domestic ideas were formed and accomplished, and some would become major documents in the future.
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were two of the most politically influential men involved in building the new American government. They both agreed on creating a strong government, but disagreed on where the supreme power should be located. Hamilton wanted a strong central government, while Jefferson wanted strong state governments. Alexander Hamilton was a man who represented the Federalists. Some of his contributions consist of The Federalist Papers , the Report on Public Credit , and the creation of the national bank.
He did a very good job on his presidency and he had many important achievements. I would definitely have voted for Jefferson because he was brilliant and he understood the needs of the people. As mentioned above, he helped to write the Declaration of Independence and the constitutional law. Lastly, he argued fundamentally that a federal government that had too much authority over its people would ultimately undergo a revolution. General Washington could be classified with multiple leadership styles including leadership by example, a transformational leader or even a servant leader. He is considered by many to be one of the most influential leaders of all time and certainly was one of our greatest presidents. Looking first at his leadership style of leading by example, he knew that he had to set the way for the people of the United States to follow for years after his presidency and establish a norm for how the country should be governed. He has high expectations of the young country, and it was said that he “…carried a vision into his presidency and sought to ensure a well-ordered government based on both laws and reason. He believed that through using reason and being open to various viewpoints, citizens could arrive at proper laws and policies to ensure peace, prosperity, and happiness for the country (McNeilly, 168).” Washington was intelligent enough to know the importance of a strong leader in the early years of this new country.
Washington’s Farewell Address George Washington is one of the most important founding fathers of our great nation. He was the first president of the United States, and made many important decisions, that helped America become successful. He was the one who said that America shouldn’t have a monarchy and have a president. He made the limited term law for presidents; he stated all presidents could only serve two terms. He started as a general in the army during the American Revolution; he was a very strong leader.
In the process, they could hold back a number of potential rebellions and create a consensus of popular support for the rule of a new, privileged leadership.When we look at the American Revolution this way, it was a work of genius, and the Founding Fathers deserve the awed tribute they have received over the centuries. Czar Alexander knew he needed to have the ability to trade and purchase goods with both sides. The economical reasons why Russia wanted the war to end was generally for the trade of products such as hemp, sail linen, tobacco and iron that were arriving in colonial ports years before the Revolutionary War began and did not stop once the war started (“American History”, 1998) The colonists and Russia saw Americans and the British as excellent trading partners, particularly because both nations had ample resources to offer. President Eisenhower stated in his First Inauguration address, his plans to establish a stronger Federal Government, as well as an effective political power. He also stated that the American people may have to sacrifice what they hold dear in order to stay strong and powerful. (Eisenhower, First Inauguration Address) This was Eisenhower’s reaching point of power for after this speech Eisenhower gained his apex of power. Soon afterwards, Eisenhower began Dynamic Conservatism, which mostly consisted of keeping New Deal Policies in effect and expanding on many, by creating new offices such as the Department of Health, the Department of Education, and the Department of Welfare. President George Washington emphatically stated that,” we should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the promise of profiting by dearly bought experiences.” Many doubted his greatness but his impact on the United States of America remains paramount. Winning the War for American Independence, being the first president and shaping the way the Constitution was written, were all attributes of the “Father Of this Nation”, President George Washington. From his youth he lived by his belief that “Knowledge is Power” and he was not afraid to let the world know that God is an important part of everything we do. He was an advocate for justice and freedom. The little details in his life predicted his behavior in loftier and more difficult situations presented to him.
