If we go and show bad attitude and show that we are negative to certain people around them. Then we could make children to be the same way, which is not a good example to them as young children don’t know the differences between right and wrong. As a teaching assistant it is my duty and responsibility to respect the children with there needs and accept them for who they are. The way I can do this is if I think about my own beliefs and opinions so I can learn not to judge others on the basis of their race, gender or religion etc. In my line
They can react to the way she is feeling and they can get an answer to a question right there. They get to form a closer bond with her and get a lot of 1 on 1 time with her. Her online class never understands when she is sick or she takes a vacation day from school. They email her questions about the syllabus and some of the assignments in the class room and it take time for her to email them back and sometimes they just don’t understand that the online teacher is not feeling well or out of office for today. In the classroom students can’t choose what they want to do.
UNIT 2: development from conception to age 16 years old. Managing a child’s behaviour P2.4 I gave positive and sensitive support to a child who has been upset by another older child. Throughout the day a normally bubbly confident child seemed to be quiet so I sensed something was actually wrong. As I read the storybook to the child she was not paying any attention later on throughout the day I spoke to the child and asked if there was actually anything wrong and that if she did not want to tell me she could tell the Teacher or the teaching assistant. The day carried on but after lunch at 1:00 the girl approached me and said that someone in the playground actually ‘spat’ at the girl and ran off.
Most people feel the need to express or needs and feelings. We also need to be there to help young children do the same, we can do this by listening and taking interest in their thoughts and emotions. It is essential for children to do this because without making their needs and feelings known to others they can become very frustrated and isolated which can lead to social difficulties later in life. Communication is also for sharing ideas and thoughts. This is important in children to build their creativity and language skills by learning how to get their ideas across to others.
Compare and Contrast I’m sure many people through their life time have had numerous jobs. Some jobs that they loved and many that they hated. Being 25 yrs old I’ve had the pleasure of working at two different lines of businesses. My first Job was working at daycare named Toddler Tech and my current job working as a customer service rep for FedEx. I enjoyed the 5 years that I was employed at Toddler Tech.
These programs are usually free to those families that qualify. Many times families run into hardships or even for our young teen moms want to finish school they now have an opportunity to receive free childcare while they get on their feet. These programs also offer other programs that help families in need such as free diapers, milk, clothing, and housing/shelter assistance. Project Head Start and Early Head Start has had a great impact on me because I have had the opportunity to work for both programs for 5 years. Many times the children I worked with came in hungry, tired, and sometimes dirty.
In this cases in my setting we would try and encourage the child and meet that child’s individual needs by not pushing them to do the tasks of a more developed child. As discussed previously in this essay there are external influences that can affect a child such as where they are growing up, their family structure and the kind of educational setting they may attend that can contribute or adversely affect their development. As previously stated we would support the child and the families in these cases. For example a child whose parents have separated we would understand for the child, but we would not ask the child probing questions, but let them talk to us if they felt they needed
I have a fear of failing because I think too much of it instead of taking deep breathes and have positive thoughts that I can do this if I put my mind to it. My professional goal is to become a early childhood development teacher. I chose this career because I love working with children all ages. I feel that with my personality being social, I can interact with kids and/or people in my professional career and also in my personal life. Also if there ever come a time when I have to deal with a child when they are being rude, I would have to be patient with the child and also try to get the child to trust me.
I was fortunate to have an opportunity to work with great co-workers and helping children from disadvantage backgrounds that are in need of a mentor and a voice to help them in court and school. My first interview with the agency occurred two years ago when I was seeking an opportunity to volunteer to help others. I was greeted with great gratitude by the staff mainly composed of women from various racial backgrounds. My job title in this agency is assistant to office staff and volunteer to children in foster care system. The agency is dedicated to find a volunteer age twenty-one and older with a reliable transportation and no criminal background, for children in the foster system.
If I am presented with a class that doesn’t meet my intellectual standards I have a habit of making things harder than they have to be in order to challenge myself. That’s why I was content in Management 5150, I found the framing and reframing techniques, challenging, and stimulating. Reframing is one of the most valuable take away for me from the course and group project. I have learnt to use reframing techniques to create new ways of seeing and create new action opportunities. Reframing problems takes effort, attention, and practice, but allows you to see the world around you in a brand-new light.
