Today Hewlet Packard (HP) is one on the largest information technology corporation in the world.In 1939 Bill Hewlett & Dave Packard who build the company in a car garage in Palo Alto, California. “One of the company's earliest customers was Walt Disney Productions, which bought eight Model 200B oscillators (at $71.50 each) for use in certifying the Fantasound surround sound systems installed in theaters for the movie Fantasia” (Hewlett-packard, 2012, http://en.wikipedia.org ) & after that the HP was off and running. Today HP manufactures all sorts of electronic products but their initial focus was on test products like counters and voltmeters. They entered the computer market in 1966. 1984 they came up with their first desktop ink jet & laser printer after that HP rose in popularity among average consumer. With the merger with Compaq in 2002, HP becomes one of the major players in desktop, laptop & many mobile computing products. “In 2007, HP's revenue was $104 billion, making HP the first IT company in history to report revenues exceeding $100 billion. In 2008 HP retained its global leadership position in inkjet, laser, large format and multi-function printers market, and its leadership position in the hardware industry.
