Henri Fayol is the father of the school of Systematic Management who movivated to create a theoretical foundation for a managerial education program based on his experience as a successful managing director of a mining company. In his day, managers had no formal training and he observed that the increasing complexity of organizations would require more professional management. (function of management, no author) There are five functions of management which can solve the organization’s problems that set by Henri Fayol. The five functions are Planning, Organizing, Commanding, Coordinating, Controlling. Planning Planning is one of the five functions of management. Planning is an action that combines unity, flexibility, continuity and precision given the organization’s resources, type and significance of work and future trends. Creating a plan is the most difficult of the five tasks and requires the active participation of the entire organization because once the plan goes wrong; the other four functions can’t functions well. Planning must be coordinated on different levels and different time horizon. Managers must plan for future conditions, develop strategic objectives and secure the achievement of future goals. Therefore, managers must evaluate future contingencies affecting the organization, the shape of future operations, objectives and strategic of the company. Organizing Organizing is the functions of management that involves developing an organizational structure and allocating resources to ensure the accomplishment of objectives. Organizing provides raw materials, personnel and capital for running business every day, and building structure to match the work.
