I remember looking down into the water and seeing a crab nestled on a rock. There were Buskers playing piano accordions, and the music followed us as we walked down the boardwalk. It was the perfect day to visit the ocean for the first time. The city is surrounded by tall, thick, green trees; slowly changing color to yellow and orange. As a child, every fall, my parents would take me and my siblings camping.

In Jackson’s “The Lottery”, she tells a story about a close-knit community of hard-working families that gather every year for a lottery. She sets the scene to where it’s a pleasant town filled with the usual gossip and usual norms any society would have, and also giving it the innocent vibe to it. Small children playing in the square, collecting rocks and running around before their parents yell for them to come home. (24) All is well in the small little town until Mr. Summers, the owner of the coal business, comes with the ominous black box. From that point, the whole story revolves around the lottery.

Emil the Sly Medic Another chilly December afternoon, my family was still absorbing the festivities of Christmas, preparing for New Year’s. I arrive at Uncle Mickey and Aunty Dot’s house, also known as Emil and Dorothy Hugo. Ever since they had retired, they have always been very supportive with my family, attending our sports activities as much as possible. We sat down and he offered me a can of guava juice as usual. His raspy, Pigeon accent and carefree mood comforts me as we settle down to watch the College Bowl Games.
The Article called Guardian Angel to 817 Immigrant orphans and it’s from Nora Sandigo is a legal protector and a second mom. I picked this article from the People Magazine. A true hero among us, from the picture you will see kids running around having fun and teenagers are sitting around having picnic in the backyard while everyone is busy you will see the hero Sandigo holding a baby and looking at the sky. The article is definitely ethos, because of the spirits of a culture, and community team work with beliefs and aspirations. The picture is focused on Nora Sandigo who has been helping the orphans and has impact lives of families across the nation also was named Hero of the year In the People Magazine.

This was a place where my older brother took care of me and my cousin during the summer. It was where we walked the stone wall that surrounded our neighborhood and linked us to other yards and adventures. We learned to balance ourselves along the wall on our daily sojourn, holding our noses to avoid the stench of poisoned rats, stiffening in the sunlight, and who had yet to be picked up and tossed into the trash cans that littered the backyards. We would gather bottles for just a few pennies and buy candy to fill the gap in our hungry stomachs while, we waited for our mom to call us home for lunches of baloney sandwhiches or lima beans and biscuits (I still refuse to eat lima beans to this day, 50 years
Short and chubby the use to call her, with massive teeth and a little bit of hair was my friend Donna from around the corner. Donna always use to come knocking at my door 5am in the morning, so we can go on the park for a swing and then head to school. She was never the trouble some type, who would pick fight or even get called at the office. Donna was about 4'7" and weight about 200 pounds, but that never stopped her from running after me at play. We always sat down and shared our secrets, our thoughts and even the guy we both had a crush on "Brad Rolle" during our lunch period.
