Most medical assistants work a 40 hour week. As for educational requirements although several medical assistants are hired with a high school diploma and receive on-the-job training, further education is available. Technical schools offer one-year medical assistance programs, and result in a certificate or diploma. There are three certifying bodies for medical assistants: the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT) and the National Health career Association (NHA). The Community Assessment of the Vulnerable Population This following report provides the results of a community health assessment conducted by Nursing Students at Winston Salem State University. The assessment was conducted on the zip code of 27262 in High Point, NC on June 20, 2012 during the early morning hours. In recent nursing literature, community has been defined as “a group of people who share something in common and interact with one another and may share a geographic boundary (Nies, M.A. & McEwen, M. 2011, p.3). The 2010 Census states the estimated zip code population for 27262 is 23,833.
Hofstede model: Hofstede model, as described by Cullen and Parboteeah, is a model mainly based on differences in values and beliefs regarding world and has become a ‘standard’ to assess cultural differences (Cullen, 2014). This model uses five dimensions to describe national culture: power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity and long-term orientation (pragmatism). The figure below shows an application of the Hofstede model on Morocco, United Kingdom and Argentina. Figure 1: Hofstede Cultural dimensions comparison between Morocco, Argentina and the UK (Hofstede Center) As we can see above, Morocco scored (70) more than the UK (35) and Argentina (49). This means that in people in Morocco tend to accept inequalities between social classes in terms of power.
