The fourth plane crashed into an open field in western Pennsylvania. Some people on that plane started to call friends and family to tell them what was happening. It was believed that the fourth plane was also intended to crash in to the pentagon aswell. The attacks between the towers and the pentagon cost more than 3000 deaths. President Bush announced the U.S intention to fight its own war again against terrorism worldwide.
One of his missions was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Lt. McDaniel was a member of the 325th Fighter Group, the “Checkertail Clan.” One of his missions was to destroy 5 German aircrafts to become an ACE in one single day. Without these men, and many others, sharing their missions, the history of WWII would not be the
At the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, in Tacoma, Washington, he released thirty-six passengers and two crew members once his demands were met (Pasternak). After taking off again Cooper ordered the plane to fly at a low altitude towards Mexico. At 8:13pm pressure gauges recorded his jump over the Lewis River from 10,000ft into a thunderstorm with over a hundred mile per hour winds and negative temperatures wearing only a thin suit, wrap-around sunglasses, and a rain coat (Brad Meltzer's Decoded). Many people believe that this was a suicidal jump and that Cooper died that night (Mysterious Disappearances in U.S. History). A reporting error in this high interest case mixed up his name forever immortalizing him as D.B.
* Frederick L. Ashworth flew with Sweeney in Bockscar and was responsible for arming the bomb. * The primary target was the city of Kokura. Nagasaki was the secondary target. * Bockscar’s reserve fuel tank was not pumping fuel correctly so the plane could not make use of the extra 600 gallons. * About 40,000 people died in this mission.
This time, 40,000 were killed instantly, and another 40,000 due to injuries and radiation. Common descriptions of the bombing include a "mushroom cloud", an extremely bright flash of light that caused blindness, severe burns (skin hanging from people, eyes burnt, people turned into ash etc. ), and the entire area being literally flattened. It was said that the heat produced was equivalent to the sun, and that the force of one atomic bomb was equivalent to 67 million sticks of dynamite! After the war, atomic bombs have never been used again.
Alias had a machine gun with a rifle-mounted grenade launcher, which he used to blow a hole in the wall and then he destroyed the four watch towers surrounding the base. Shrike then brought in a gunship and blew open the locked security door out the front. When he had finished, Alias ran in and took out twenty odd guards, searched around for a way into the main area to find the nano-cell, but he
The bombing of Dresden in World War II was one of the destructive events in history, killing more than 30,000 people. Kurt Vonnecut was an American soldier who experienced this first handed when he was captured and held at this city. In the book, Vonnecut condemns war by using black humor, a genre of satire that make fun of serious, to describes events such as death and being captured in the war to shows stupidity and illogicalness of war. Unsure of how successful the mission will be, the government has taken the precaution of digging gigantic bunkers which will house a selection of the U.S. population for up to two years, where they can sit out the aftermath of an impact.
Blacks are the often the first target of neo-nazi’s and white supremacists. Macdonald uses this to justify the murder of Blacks; “If we are going to cave in people’s heads with bricks, they must be people who deserve it” (Macdonald 10). The person who “deserves it” in the book is a Black convenient store owner, who the Organization choses to rob and kill. James Byrd Jr., a 49 year old Black man, was brutally murdered in Texas on June 7, 1998 by 3 white white men who were racially motivated based on the writing of Macdonald. When Netzley was describing the connection of Byrd’s murder and The Turner Diaries, she wrote “...African -American James Byrd Jr. is beaten and dragged to his death behind a pickup truck, one of his assailants, John King, will say ‘We’re starting The Turner Diaries early’’ (Netzley 5).
