When I was a kid I used to live with my mother and my grandparents, I grew up without knowing my father, but I was happy because my grandparents always bought me everything I wanted, at that time I was the only child at home. Later my Mom got married, and I had two brothers. I learned how to share my toys with them, and I got a stepfather who taught me many good things because he is a good and hard working man. My Mom is lucky. Before I finished the high school, I started to work for a big tools company as a salesman helper (where I learned many new things).
Lillian Rubin who wrote “Guns and Grief” gives several reasons as to why Cho Seung-Hui might have fired at Virginia Tech. Lillian Rubin says that weapons are too accessible. Cho Seung-Hui was able to buy two semi-automatic pistols, a Glock 9 mm and a Walther P22 along with all the ammo, no questions asked. Cho walked onto Virginia Tech campus and fired close to two hundred rounds on April 16, 2007. Cho killed thirty-two people and
Gun Control When I was fourteen years old my wealthy cousin game me some of his old toy guns. I was ecstatic for two reasons. One, the fact that he even cared enough to give me anything. Two, that they seemed like pretty high quality guns. Playing around, I pointed the gun at my mother’s behind and pulled the trigger.
She is now once again fit and feels good about herself. She has joined a gym and attends the gym 2-3 times a week, she participates in several walk a thons every year, and she has taken up salsa dancing. She says that although she loved sports before, her current leisure activities are very rewarding to her. She does say that it is much harder now to lose those extra pounds whereas before it would be very
The girls were executing every play to perfection. We won the game, silencing a team of seniors who had taunted us for weeks before the game. Almost sweeter than our decisive win, I realized, was the fact that we were celebrating our win as a group of close friends, many of whom we had just made a few short months
G soon came up with a game making the kids realize that they all had a lot in common. When Eva went to go visit her father there was a big sign of improvement with her wanting to learn because she stated to explain what was in the book to her father. When Eva tried to give her father thee book he flipped it over and was not interested in her academics. When Mrs.G gives them the assignment to read Anne Frank it piques her interest and she begins to focus more on her academics. She starts actually asking questions and reading the book every night such as "So when's Anne Frank gonna smoke Hitler?"
I could see in his eyes that he was excited for me; as excited as he would have been if he had made the shot. The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing the buck, talking about the shot with family and friends. At sixteen I had accomplished this on my own; taken the necessary steps to practice out of respect for the hunt, to prevent an animal from suffering. This had been the “perfect shot,” a moment that would never be repeated except in my memories. There will be other shots that hit with the same precision, but the moment will never be the same.
When I first started playing sports it was it was all for fun until I found the sports I truly loved and was serious about them. The first sport I ever tried was when I was 4, I did gymnastics. I loved it so much and I would watch the older girls hoping that would be me one day. I only did it for 2 years though because the place I went to moved somewhere else so I stopped. I won a medal in floor and this first got me going with competition.
I was freshman and went to few classes and some students said its almost finish school and want to do something for fun like YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE “Yolo” my close friend and i saw them conversation and made a plan to pulling the fire alarm so they did. We laughed because we know who DID it and it felt good that we have a short classes. We went to stand outside for like 20 minute and the firemen came and check school if everything is okay it took them forever and we went back to class every next class other student pulling fire alarm like 4-5 times. I asked my best friend if she experience those things? She told me she DID it when she was freshman.
Coming from a private high school, we had drills at least once a month and they ranged anywhere from fire drills which is the most common one, to hurricane and tornado drills, to even code red drills where the school is locked up and shutdown. Nevertheless, how many schools actually prepared students this well before coming into college? This is unfortunate because if we had a hurricane right now I personally would not know where to go or what to do, even with the little training I had this is a new environment for me. My life is now in danger. One thing my school does do is send out alerts though which is helpful because you can keep up to date with what is happening with the school, but it isn’t really helpful if I’m aware of the situation and do not know how to handle it.
