Preston Campbell 3-6-11 Book Report Jumper Jumper is a 1992 science fiction novel by Steven Gould. The novel was published in mass market paperback in October 1993 and re-released in February 2008 to coincide with the release of the film adaptation. It tells the story of David, a teenager who escapes an abusive household using his ability to teleport. As he tries to make his way in the world, he searches for his mother, who left when he was a child. I the beginning of the book David is having some troubles at school, he gets bullied a lot.
It was originally built as a women's residence hall and remained so until 1980 when it became co-ed. Named after Dr. Elizabeth Peet who practically grew up in the Deaf Community. Her mother was deaf and her father was an educator of the Deaf. Her grandfather and father were successive principals of the New York School for the Deaf. After passing the Harvard entrance examinations, she stayed with her father until his death in 1889 and her mother passed on in 1891.
Wicked is a musical based off of a novel written by Gregory Maguire, titled “Wicked- The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.” The Novel corresponded with the ever popular story of the Wizard of Oz, but rather than following Dorothy and Glinda, it followed the life of Elphaba, the wicked witch of the west, and her choices. Now all of the aforementioned aspects of this show are considered its plot, but its story is very different entirely. The actors, directors, producers, choreographers, musicians, designers and so many more worked for months and moths to create the best show they could, but once it hit the Broadway stage, their dreams came crashing down. She worked with many shows on Nickelodeon such as Little Bear and Oswald. Collin’s first real book that was published was Gregor the Overlander, which then lead to the entire Underlanders series. In 2008, Collins began writing The Hunger Games series and in 2009, Catching Fire was released. Collins essentially got the idea for these books from the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur (Suzanne).
LWFC Final Essay A Seamless Ending Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel tells a magical love story of a young woman named Tita who struggles to overcome the innate restrictions of family tradition imposed upon her. The novel presents the central conflict of Tita’s quest for true love against Mama Elena and her traditional values. Esquivel’s structuring of the novel is organized in such a way that each chapter is a month of the year and contains one family recipe. Therefore, the 12th chapter, December, is the culminating episode of the novel. Within this climatic month Esquivel brings a successful dénouement to the story through various techniques.

The classic film "The Wizard of Oz" was inspired by the book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written in 1899 and published in 1900 by author, Lyman Frank Baum. Baum actually wrote a series of books based on the Oz story and characters. The MGM 1939 film release was a loose adaptation of the initial book. A little known fact, however, is that many Oz films were made during the era of the silent movie.
