Discipline Discipline is the training of people to obey rules and regulations (code of behaviour) with using punishment to correct disobedience. Discipline in the UPS The main area that discipline is exhibited is in the UPS and more specifically in the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces are trained day in day out to be the best soldiers, pilots, engineers and medics possible, they are taught how to survive in dangerous environments and how to kill. They are taught to follow a strict set of rules and regulations; they are put into stressful situations that most people never see in their whole lives. All these mean that every person in the Armed Forces or in the UPS needs discipline because discipline ensures people do what they are told/ordered to do, and in these situations that they will find themselves in means that if someone doesn’t follow an order it could mean the difference between life and death, there is need for discipline because people in the UPS are trusted with objectives and they need to be trusted to carry out those objectives without supervision (someone holding their hand), otherwise if there isn’t any discipline then the objective won’t get done and then the Armed Forces will lose their operational efficiency and people will lose their lives. These are examples are from the perspective of the Armed Forces overseas in war, more importantly the Armed Forces (and the UPS) need discipline when home because when the Armed Forces are home they are representing everyone in the Armed Forces and the UPS, they need discipline when in public because some people don’t agree with what they are doing and therefore this could lead to violence and if the Armed Forces aren’t disciplined then they will get into fights and lower the countries view on them and this will act as a catalyst and bring shame upon all of the UPS, as a result this will make public
