While I agree with General Dempsey’s view on how to form the Army into a “Profession of Arms,” I don’t think today’s Army is quite there yet. I think The Army is going in the right direction but it will take time to change the culture. We need to understand that it is virtually impossible for all Soldiers to be professionals based on experience and expertise alone. We need to understand that not all Soldiers join today for honor, tradition, and/or wanting to be a part of a team. Soldiers are joining the military more and more to have a secure job with benefits for themselves and their family members.
It can have a very costly outcome The first lesson of leadership is learning how to follow orders. That is also providing that the leader you are following knows what they are doing, and in the military, that can be a tricky question. Duties and Responsibilities of NCOs The main duty of NCOs is taking care of soldiers. Corporals and Sergeants do this by taking concern for their soldiers well being. Leaders need to know their soldiers enough to train them as individuals and teams which will give them the confidence in any conditions to perform there duties. Individual training is the main duty and responsibility of NCOs. No one in the Army has more todo with soldiers than NCOs.
From day one in the army they start instilling the “Army Values”. In the military everyone is going to be a leader or have to lead at any given moment. They teach us all that we are an “Army of one” because we all have the same desire and fight to achieve the same goal. This leadership style is mainly because of at a time of war your leader might be taken out of the fight at any moment. At that moment You may have to take charge and be the leader.
All of them work hand in hand with each other. The first one that I think relates to duty is leadership. Leadership and duty are the two Army values that especially go hand in hand with each other. As an individual in the Army you have the duty of being a soldier but as a leader you have to be a soldier and a leader. Without being a soldier you cannot accomplish your duty as a leader.
By obeying and following rules the services are able to deal with all kinds of situations that they are facing and achieve their goals. If the service was lacking discipline then everyone would be doing what they please and there wouldn’t be a good team work either. There would be no team cohesion because of everyone being undisciplined so therefore nothing would get accomplished and the country would suffer. Orders must be followed in order to have a good discipline in the services. The consequences of someone not following orders could be serious or even life threatening.
First, way before we carry out that type of mission we have to be able to do something just a simple as having a belt. A belt is as important as the trousers or covers. In ranks you can quickly distinguish when a person is not in full uniform, it just looks different. All sailors must maintain the highest standards regarding our uniforms, we never know when the next mission will be entrusted to us and by all means we must carry it out and complete it successfully. That is why it is very good for someone of high rank in the United States Military to know a good sum of history. They can review what their past commander s faults were and not make the same mistakes over. As in any job, if you can evade any mistakes you or someone else made in the past then you would run a more efficient working place. An intelligent person would not make the mistakes themselves but learn from other people s mistakes. For example, if my older brother were to get burned by an iron, I would be very careful the next time I use the iron, since I would have the same chances of getting burned if not careful.

It is seen at its simplest in warlike operations, but the power to lead smoothest the way of every task in every branch of a military organization, whether in war or peace. It breathes that vitality into an organization that will take a collection of men, buildings and machines, and waken them to purposeful effective life. How is this done? First, and perhaps ideally, by innate force of character.
