EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Millers Car Repair Shop will be a small family run business mainly run by family members in the city of Chicago. It will be a partnership between Sam and Jennifer Miller with other family members who will invest in this business as well. Good geographic location, greater financial ability due to a partnership and experience in working for an automotive industry are some of the strengths of this business. Management shortcomings due to multiple responsibilities per person, competition from a bigger or more popular car repair company and insufficient funds generated by initial service to customers will pose as challenges to this company. The business will comprise of 20 employees approximately. There will be positions of operation manager, estimator, accountant, controller, supervisors, parts coordinator, driver, mechanics, painters and electricians within the company. The company’s mission is to perform the highest level of ethical and quality vehicle repairs while maximizing customer value and providing a safe and secure work environment for employees. The culture of the organization will be one of shared beliefs that provides a framework for setting priorities, making decisions, treating customers and each other amiably. All employees will receive the benefits of an employee benefits package which comprises of medical insurance, children education allowance, house rent, bonuses and other perks and benefits. The company will use online job portals, local newspapers and advertisements in magazines to post job openings. The business will be established in the 15000 square foot acre warehouse belonging to Jennifer Miller located three blocks away from the centre of town.
