Justin Gayle 02/02/2012 AMH Summarize the motives, expectations, problems, and rewards associated with the age of European expansion. A primary motive of European Expansion was to colonize lands that the Europeans believed had riches and gold. Though the Spaniard found some riche in South America other Europeans were not as lucky to find riches in North America. Many rumors that spread in Europe claimed that the Americas were filled with opportunities and riches. Many of these rumors were lies. Colonist traveled to the Americas to search for land only to find Indians. The Europeans started to take the only thing the Natives could call theirs that was available to them, the land.
