These question are: a) Why do people choose to date online? b) What aspects of face to face relations are reproduced? c) What are the rationales and strategies internet daters use to negotiate and to manage problems? People choose to use internet dating because they are unhappy in a marriage, don’t want commitment, the fear of rejection, lonely, lack of communication, control or comfort after and life crisis. Lawson and Leck state, “Lonely people tend to report being dissatisfied with their relationships and are often cynical, rejecting, bored, and depressed.” (p. 40) Jean a 35- year old interviewee states, “If you were heavy, you could get to know someone who might like you instead of having to attract people with your looks before they wanted to know you.”(p. 42) These are a few examples of why people turn to internet dating.
Does that replace emotions? A person might text something meant to be funny but not have it received as such. Another element is body language. When a person speaks we can tell alto about the way they think or feel by the way they hold their body. Texting and social media does not allow for that.
During the interview, it can clearly be seen that whenever he says “yes” he literally shakes his head no. This is a subconscious act, meaning that they do not believe what they are saying. In an article, it says that it is extremely crucial to listen to emphasis on words. This cue can come off as misleading. If one is telling the truth, they will shake/nod their head as an accent to show that they simply mean what they say.
She became extremely uncomfortable with the tensions between her sister, the thought of her husband in combat at war, and the expectations of the team. She often complained that the “game” was becoming too hard and Dugan reminded her that it is suppose to be that way or else everyone would do it. “The hard is that makes it great.” (Marshall) Dottie refused to see how special and important her opportunity was. The entire league viewed her as the most talented player and this made her uncomfortable appearing as being #1 and the pressures that came with that. On the other hand, Dottie’s sister Kit represented the “fear of failure” athlete.
As a result of this, these explanations are not at all reliable due to the fact that knowledge is not obtained from a dependable source and that the knowledge itself and evidence behind it is lacking in detail. Through these two approaches,
One of my weaknesses is that I tend to over analyze/stress too much. This has been in my nature since I was a child. This fear has always held me back in speaking in front of an audience whether it is two or twenty. I fear has always been that I do not want to embarrass myself and seem like a failure in front of my peers. Another weakness I have as a public speaker is that I tend to stumble and skip sentences.

Most things are made much simpler by just googling and searching for words and stories. I think it changed the way we think, the way we write and the way we read. Everything is more to the point and much less details. We may read more because of text messaging, but I wouldn’t consider hat valuable reading. Opening up a book and reading something , that has substance and draws your interest to turn the next page and read more, is what i would call valuable reading.

Some of the other negative effects of the smartphone are growing addictions to technology, altered sleeping patterns, decreased family communication, loss of productive time, and sometimes death. Stan Cox’s essay, “The Case against Air-Conditioning,” speculated about how the lives of the people of Washington D.C. would change if there was less air-conditioning.
This essay will critically respond to her arguments. Two of the arguments that Wanda Williams gives are that people are writing less meaningfully and academically; and young peoples' verbal, social skills and ability to read and absorb a long, complicated text are harmed. Williams explains that in the past, people would spend hours, even days on writing letters, full of meaningful discourse and communication, but now young people do not think about what they are writing, they simply exchange meaningless sentences and their ability to write academically is suffering. The author also states that the young generation finds it more difficult to understand and process a complex text; and they become unable to deal with simple social interactions necessary to advance their careers. First, the writer fails to convince the reader that people are using less meaningful and academic writing because of using email or social networks.
