Beth’s office is through the kitchen in the back of the store. The Paradiso’s mission statement is “To build a lifelong partnership of raving guest, associates and stockholders”. Her job is to order supplies, doing schedules, hiring employees, cooking, serving, counting the register at the end of the day and taking care of the store. Beth says her least favorite thing about her job is the turnover never having enough people to run the store. There are times that she has to be the manager and the cook at the same time.
The fact the company is throwing food out instead of donating it makes the company appear heartless in the eyes of the public. Although company Q has logical financial reasons for disposing of the food, the public does not see this. The public’s perception is that company Q only cares about profit and not the people of the community. Company Q Needs to seek methods to remedy the public perception that it does not care about the community. One solution could be that company Q can set up a program to closely monitor the surplus of inventory in order to make donations to local food banks.
He says, “Such shops often get prank calls, called “bogus.” Where people would call in fake orders and the leftover pizzas would be thrown away. While Ehrenreich is also desperate for food, she still finds eating the restaurants food grotesque. She complains of how the food gives her an upset stomach, and even calls the restaurant a “fat person’s hell.” She says, “The cheese fries, and the chicken fried steaks, all must be paid for in human discomfort.” Though her hunger overwhelms her and she eats whatever she has time
If Company Q is worried about this happening with employees, they could only allow owners or store managers to decide what is donated. After donations were gathered, they could allow store employees, under supervision, to choose some of the food donations for themselves. Then the remainder could go to the local food bank to help those who would use the food. Donations could be under the strict supervision of owners or store managers only. Company Q’s current worries about employees stealing food creates an atmosphere of distrust with in the company and does not allow the employees to feel as though are a trusted and valuable part of the company.

The landlord didn’t want them to pay because the government pays for everything. After all, the feast they ate was nothing; the landlord informed them that this is not a well feast but a poor feast. After eating they decided to just carry on with conversation. Cacambo humbly asked.
In class some students stated they wouldn’t report a thief if he was stealing food, while others believed theft is wrong regardless of the circumstances. If the thief was hungry he should get a job.
When people do this, they take food away from people who really need it. People who need food would be able to get much more if people didn’t take what they didn’t need. The injustice here is that people don’t get background checks periodically after their first one. This makes it so that they can get free food for as long as they want even when they don’t need
