Those other wretches, how they bled and spewed, And one who would have drowned himself for good, — I try not to remember these things now. Let dread hark back for one word only: how Half-listening to that sentry's moans and jumps, And the wild chattering of his broken teeth, Renewed most horribly whenever crumps Pummelled the roof and slogged the air beneath — Through the dense din, I say, we heard him shout "I see your lights!" But ours had long died
All in all he shall be missed by all of us and we will remember him as the brainless stereotypical blue-collar who was apparently eaten by a clam. Here’s a quote I thought of that perfectly fits Peter, “Some people love them, most people hate them, everyone groans when they hear them.” The funeral was held at 3:50 pm for about two hours, too long. Here’s an advice to the people “When entering a funeral home, remember to stay alert and always look
I see you crying like a crushed snail, the way you cried when I helped you pull out your first loose tooth. Yes, I did love you then. Somehow when I looked at you, I thought of fiery red ants. I wanted you to dig your fingernails into my skin and drain out all my blood. I don't know how long we'll be at sea.
It was effected by the collision in the Halifax Harbor led to the biggest man made explosion in the world before the era of the atomic bomb on December 6th, 1917. Most children were going to school and were on there way; that means most children died rather than adults. It also destroyed the town and that took about 2 years to repair. At the time no one knew what to do they were freaking out because of all these disasters that happened. Most people were distracted by all the fire and such that they didn’t move a one bit; they just stood there.
Humour is used very often throughout. Every near disaster that Farley has with his boat is always a comedic event, he talks of being drunk and trying to navigate into a harbour at night in a thick black fog laughing and scared out of his mind, “The Newfoundland Pilot Book informed us that the harbour was complicated, with off-lying dangers, and that it should not be entered unless one took aboard a pilot. Furthermore it should not be entered even in daylight, unless one possessed local knowledge. The book said nothing about what should not be done at night, in a black fog, by perfectly good intoxicated strangers.”(165) They nearly crash the boat several times but they always laugh it off
Mangareva and the associated islands What I learned from my catastrophe was that in Mangreva according to my research it was inhabited a long time ago maybe sometime between A.D. 800 and 1000, this island had a lot of people in it and they were pretty happy with their beautiful island and they didn’t want anybody to bother them with their life; but one day they saw a ship and all of a sudden a row boat was dropped down into the ocean and two men boarded the row boat and started rowing for shore while the ship left to go too another place, when the men reached the shore of the beautiful Mangrevan Island they told the people that they were gods and that they needed to become rulers; so the people fell for it and they started treating the men like they were gods and little by little the mangaravian culture began to die as
Crane showed us how the world is unpredictable in the Open Boat, all of the four people on the boat did hard to help each other and support each other. The oiler Billy is the one who did most and the one is strongest. Readers might think that he is not going to be the one who dies, but the ending is surprising that the oiler died. The story told readers that everyone in the world has equal chance to die no matter what you did which shows how unpredictable the world is. In the Bride Comes to Yellow Sky, Jack could never know that someone is going to fight with him on the day he married.
Paul Joh English Pd 2-3, Even Odysseus in New York It’s another cold night out in the sea. We still don’t know where we’re heading but we hope we’ll see land soon. Everyone on the boat is scared and frightened. We’ve lost so many crew members and can’t afford to lose anymore. There are only 10 of us remaining out of the 100’s of men we started this voyage with.
After what seemed like days but was only one day on the life boat, hope was finally in sight. Through the fog, a large island emerged. Editha screams, “We’re Saved!” Edna turns around to see the island and feels a sense of relief come over her. When all of the sudden, a big wave sweeps over the boat and caused the boat to be capsized. As soon as hope was spotted, the wind and waves started to pick up.
As people have to be hired to clean up, and people not wanting to go to dirty beaches. Cost money to people working at the beach. This problem doesn’t just occur in the Persian Gulf, it occurs world wide. A study from the university of Georgia, February 3rd 2015, claims that about 8 million metric tons of plastic trash enters the ocean every year. Pollution in the Persian gulf is negatively impacting marine life, as oils spills occur, and ocean mining is at it’s peak, but most importantly sewage dumping. Believe it or not we are all a witness of watching someone litter, or us littering.
