Prom will forever have a lifelong impact on your life. My prom turned out to be the most stressful yet fun event of my senior year. I never went to a single formal dance until my senior year. On nights when there was a homecoming, winter formal or junior prom, my friends would get all dressed up and ready to dance in their beautiful gowns. While they were dancing with their dates, I was at home watching television.
She and her friends who sit around the house for hours discussing all the things the children would do has they grew up, who Tristan would look like most, how she hoped that he had his fathers eyes and her hair. It was a dream come true and she had never been more ready. Until one dreary rainy morning in October. She woke up early that morning not feeling very well although at 27 weeks you never really feel well. Until she found blood.
We didn't stay on the beach long, we all wanted to get a good nights sleep. My step-sisters Katy and Bethany have never been to Cedar Point before and the last time i was there was 8yrs ago. None of us could fall asleep, we were all to excited to go enjoy the huge amusment park. When our parents woke us up the next morning we all rushed around, even tho we had plenty of time before we got into the park an hour early. After we were all ready we ate breakfast at a very crowded resturant.
Our homecoming pep-rally and the float parade had begun on Friday. All week students prepared the halls with decorations to compete for first place in the homecoming competitions. Among the decorations there were categories such as best float, best gym poster, and best painted window on a downtown store. After the voting the game had begun. Following the game would result in the celebration party that ended in a complete massacre that no one from Crandon will ever forget.
Schlosser started his essay with a description of Elisa Zamot’s routine. Every Saturday Elisa Zamot gets up at 5:15 a.m. She is a sixteen year old girl who lives in Colorado Springs and works at McDonalds. She and her manager need to get everything ready before the restaurant opens at 7:00 a.m. They need to get the food, supplies, turn on the oven and also need to prepare the food before any customer arrives. Elisa works 7 hours taking orders and hands food to costumers from breakfast to lunch.
Well times that by ten and add a country accent to it and there is my sister. Every morning I would wake up and throw some clothes on and have to go down stairs to do my business because heaven forbid out step one foot in the upstairs bathroom while Sophie was getting ready. She wakes up every morning at 5:30 to make sure her hair was perfectly straight and her makeup was perfectly on, before heading to school. This ticked me off not only because it was in the morning but also because I had to drive her to school at 6:55 when school didn’t start till 7:20, she called it her “social time”. Sometimes I really think she is the mail mans kid and not related to me what so ever.
Sometimes I think that the dream still isn’t dead in me, especially since this past Thanksgiving. This year, my family (my mother, my sister and I) decided to be a host family to two Great Lakes Naval Base Boot Camp members for the holiday. On Thanksgiving morning, my mother and I went to pick up our two ‘recruits’. I was so stuck in a cloud, dreaming of spending my holiday with tow muscle-bound hotties, that it never occurred to me what happened next. Two young ladies approached us and introduced themselves as Midshipman MacIntosh and Shipman McDonough.
This story begins with the most innocent of domestic scenes. Mary Maloney, a housewife in her sixth month of pregnancy, is waiting for her husband to return home. It is a Thursday night, and they usually eat out. When Patrick Maloney does come home, he is strangely moody and takes a stronger drink than usual. Mary tries to divert him with the usual domestic comforts but to no avail.
I was sitting in my third period English and class had not started yet. There was quite a commotion amongst the students. It was Monday, and the students were recounting how amazing the party that they had all attended the previous Friday night was. They said that it was the most fun that they had ever had. I sat in disbelief.
It caused traumatic damage to me that is forever unforgettable and permanent. One Saturday morning, I was at my best friend’s house. We spent the morning laughing, eating snacks, and doing each other’s hair. Her brother had come in the room with us asked us did we want to ride the 4-wheeler. I had never ridden one before, so I hesitantly said “yes.” After a while, we eventually went outside and took turns riding the 4-wheeler.
