In May 1787, fifty-five white male delegates from 12 states assembled at the Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia. This assembly was called the Constitutional Convention and it was held to amend the Articles of Confederation. They impacted the structure and function of our national government. There were two main compromises discussed during the Constitutional Convention.
