“You guys are three of the bravest kids I’ve seen in a long time. What are you guys? Professional heroes or somethin’?” This one of the many great quotes from the film The Outsiders. The Outsiders is one of the best films made! The acting in this movie was brilliant, and the three main heroes of this story are Ponyboy played by Thomas Howell, Johnny played by Ralph Macchio, and Dally played by Matt Dillon.
Jamal’s writing became amazingly good and William was able to see himself as an actual person rather then just an author. This effected him so much he not only went to Scotland, but left Jamal everything he owned, including his writing, the most precious thing to him. “Finding Forrester” did all of this realistically, without making the story hard to understand. Overall this is a very good movie that will leave you in wonder at the extent of a young boys talent, and at the same time have you guessing at the true feelings of William Forrester. I rate this movie an 8.5/10 for its clean plot flow, in depth characters, engaging story, and lack of clichés.
In the fantastical world that is Cyrano de Bergerac, there exists the type of hero that has been lost in the modern world. Although Cyrano feels the ache of a heart “so heavy with love [he has] not told”, and the forlorn anxiety that he would “die without telling [Roxane]”, he is still the most kind and brave of friends. Since childhood, Cyrano had been by Roxane’s side. He was the one that she could depend on to be there for her, to play with, and she was there for him¾when he would hurt his hand; she would say “Now, what have you been doing to yourself…” The nature of Cyrano’s affection had always been true, and never for any
He is someone who is timeless and very known. He has seamlessly moved from actor to an award-winning director, and people seem to respect him and his work even if they feel some is controversial.
Luke is a very loving father, and he seems to show the most love to his daughter because she is the youngest, she comes and visits most often, and for the longest periods of time. Luke says “And if one of my sons had come to me that night, I would have phoned the police and told them to meet us with an ambulance at the top of the hill” (Dubus 117). Luke expresses that it is not that he loves his sons any less; but that he could bear to watch his sons take the punishment they would receive if they had done what their sister did. Even though he is protecting his daughter he is leaving a mark on the young man’s family. Luke doesn’t know that no one will find out about what happened.
This island has been abundant for so many ages; I thought it would be the perfect place for the shooting of our film. The cast is being played by Henry Smith as Denny, Rosalie Culle as Adel, Billy Ray as Mr. Poorwilly and Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Poorwilly. These excellent actors and actress takes so much pride in their acting that I didn’t believe anyone else could take their place in this film. The movie will be coming out in October 31st. 2009.
voSubmitted to: Caemeron Crain Submitted by: Arthur Nazarov Date: 1/20/12 Euthanasia vs. Utilitarianism The film “You Don’t Know Jack” was produced and presented by HBO. A documentary based on a true story with great detail that it is definitely worthy of being nominated for an award. Pacino is always naturally gifted and extremely talented as an actor. In my belief, he is a legend when it comes to acting. His movies depict the fine artworks of a perfectionist.
As Warner puts it, "seventy-seventh year I been in the lottery.” (1217) Jackson uses Warner's own viewpoint on his continual luck to add drama to the large amount of time he has survived. One might say that Warner's luck is in connection with the fact that he has been the most obedient person and he is the only person who does not want to get rid of the lottery. Others, however, might say that it is a direct association that Warner is not being chosen in the lotteries because he is obeying tradition and he is being rewarded for doing so. When Mr. Adams tells Warner that "over in the north village they're talking of giving up the lottery,"(1217) Warner reprimands with, "pack of crazy fools, listening to the young folks, nothing's good enough for them. "(1217) Old Man Warner is usually understood to be the most symbolically evil supporter of custom, but he is simply the most sincere.
During the Simon’s (Matt and Marie’s son) birthday party, there were some conversations between Kate, Daniel and Kate, Marie; Marie told Kate to face the truth that Matt’s life was not a failure, and he love his son, his family and the farm. The most important thing that bothered Matt, however, was that Kate cannot forgive Matt and cannot understand him. Daniel also has made some progress (Page 281-282); he tells Kate to look at real world too; also, Daniel point out that Kate had put the story in a place that was too heavy. Actually, Matt did not change after being a famer. He can be a scholar; however, he just found out he like farming, too.
No matter what color, race, sex, what set they’re from, how they were raised, anything. He loves everyone. To prove this, “if you were my son, I’d be the proudest man alive” shows that he shows Looney a tremendous amount of love. Looney has just pulled G aside to show him his report card of “straight A’s” which turned out to be a little off but Father Greg decides to support Looney and show compassion because he is proud of him regardless. Looney actually only got one A grade but didn’t receive any bad marks and G is very proud of him for this.
