True Grit 1969 “True Grit” is an attribute that most people do not possess. It is your heart telling you to do something that is right, even though it might me unpopular, or it doesn’t go with the flow. And that is what Rooster Cogburn does. He follows what he believes in even though it isn’t what the majority seems as right. Rooster Cogburn is the main character. He is a drunk. His appearance is rugged and dirty. He takes on the journey because he wants to help Mattie find the guy who killed her dad, but also to capture Ned Pepper. I admire Rooster’s determination and willingness to help Mattie. At first it is indifferent, because he does not want her to come along. But by the end they develop a father-daughter relationship, which is shown
