Therefore, college should be free to all qualified students because a modern country needs highly skilled graduates of all kinds and there are certain families who cannot afford to pay for the education of their children, even though with college being free for all students, this would mean that taxes for
The passage of the “Pick the Public’s Pocket No More” bill would lower college application rates, lower college graduation rates, and lower our country’s number of new college graduates for open positions in the work force. Without grants, many Americans would not be able to pursue college degrees because of the debt they would acquire financing their degree with loans alone. Federal grants allow young adults, who are the future of our country, to pursue a college degree without the full burden of college debts after graduation. (M) When considering whether or not to pursue a degree, many are persuaded to apply because they often receive grants to assist
People can take advantage of this free college, taxes can be raised, and it can take more time for employees, but there is a way you can fix all of the problems. To be able to have free community college, there should be restrictions against it. If a student doesn’t have a 3.0 grade point average, or if as student doesn’t have a 18 or higher on their ACT, if the attendance is below 95%, and a high school diploma. if there requirements aren’t met, then you shouldn’t allow free community college to that particular person. In conclusion, I believe free community college should be allowed.
Karon Gibson English 12 Should College Athletes Be Paid to Play? College athletes should not be paid to play sports because most athletes are attending college on full or partial scholarship and receive financial aid packages. This money is basically paying the students to study. Student athletes do bring greater part of the money into the school but most of the money is spent on them to. Paying athletes to play would create a huge gap in college sports because of the ability to pay more at the bigger schools.
By only donating money that we spend on things not necessary to survive we are still able to live a life that is comfortable and the idea of rich and poor people can be thrown away. Though this could probably only be achieved with government intervention, the possibilities are endless. Of course a big downside to this idea is the fact that we work hard for our money. It can seem like a waste to give it away after we work long and hard to obtain it. Another con is that after living with an excess of everything for so long, the people who are most prosperous might not be as willing to give it up.
They are always raising college tuition to help pay for different programs but, it seems that they are not focusing on the programs for the diverse students that are here in the United States. A part of this solution we should be helping the low – income performing schools and encourage parents involvement. Parents need to
This across-the-board rise in tuition is not the fault of local government but rather the overstrained and over-budgeted state and federal bureaucracies, and it would simply not be feasible to tackle the problem of tuition increases at the local level. We can, however, provide temporary reprieve for all affected students at Cal Poly University and Cuesta College with a local legislative mandate such as what I have suggested. While hurrying the transition to digital textbooks could be considered a 'band-aid' solution to the issue of affordable education, it is a necessary step in order to allow access to a fair and affordable education for all students. It is true that an initiative as such would not solve the root of the problem: the fact that the cost of a higher education is rising much faster than both inflation and income rates. The aim of this local initiative would simply be to allow for more cost effective options in receiving an
People on welfare make more money on welfare than off of it. Some people look at Welfare as an easy way out because if the government will pay for everything they need, why should they be successful? Why should they try to make something of themselves? The government has made some changes in the Welfare system. A huge difference between welfare then and welfare now is that they do not give out food stamp coupons anymore; they now have a debit card just like any person would.

While many people in the United States look for higher education after high school, financial barriers are in the way for a lot of these students due to rising college tuition costs. Although these high prices are seen as a negative by most, arguments have been made that they may actually be a good thing. Some say the higher price tag forces (potential) students to not take their education for granted. The opposing side responds with statements saying a lot of people aren’t given a chance and these prices are to far out of their reach. The bottom line is that the high and rising cost of college isn’t a good thing and reduces the amount of qualified workers.
