Logistic service providers: Any companies are providing transportation logistic service Logistic companies: * Hauliers or trucking companies. * Freight forwarders. * The term NVOCC (non-vessel-owning common carrier). * Couriers grew significantly. * A final group of companies are those that have become known as integrators. Third-party logistic companies (3PLS): Is a hired company that provide requested services . Fourth-party logistics (4PL): Is a consult company that make sure that the third party doing his work properly. Carrier responsibility: To know if the consignor or the consignee who has the responsibility if the product had been damaged , and if they should pay before they start delivering the product or they deliver the product and then they receive they money. Bill of lading: A file the contain the transport information ( what is the product , where should it delivered exactly , what time ). Incoterms: Terms that international chamber of commerce provide it , so every person who is working in transporting can read it. Chapter 5 Procurement and Outsourcing Procurement: Is about specifying requirements, identifying sources, and knowing what exactly what that fit for purpose. Trend in the manufacturing sector emerging form globalization: * Global competition. * Competitors, partners and customer from around the world. * Global sourcing. * Global presence. * Global value chains resulting in increasing complexity and competition. * Global access to knowledge and new technologies. * High levels of customer awareness and expectation. * Rapid pace of technological change.
