The stock market crash was the turning point in causing the Great Depression; it was not its only source (McQuarrie, 2009). There were many different factors, beginning with the end of The First World War in 1919. During The First World War, the United States created resources by fabricating and supplying other countries with armaments and foodstuff. Farmers, coal miners, textile workers, and industries were all flourishing from the war. When The First World War came to an end, the farmers, coal miners, and textile workers were the first to feel the effects.
In Chapter 2, when George notices her standing in the doorway of the bunkhouse she has "rouged lips" with red fingernails and red shoes with "red ostrich feathers." She leans against the doorway "so that her body was thrown forward" and smiles "archly and twitched her body." Her pretext of looking for Curley is false; Slim tells her that he has seen her husband going toward their house. After she leaves, Lennie remarks, "She's purty," and George scolds,"Listen to me,....Don't you even take a look at that bitch. I don't care what she says and what she does.

George talks to the owner of the ranch and he told him that Lennie is his cousin and his mother left him so he have to take care of the poor Lennie. I make the analysis and I get to the conclusion that mice in the title, and in the book are Lennie because mice can’t make decision by itself. I compare Lennie like the mice that the scientist uses in the laboratories to make experiments on them, because the nervous system is similar to a human one. The scientists use the mice in the laboratory to make experiments on them with many things, like medicine to see how they react to it.
