3: Be able to support individuals during therapeutic group activities. 3.1: Support group members o understand the purpose and proposed activity of the group. All activities have a specific purpose of improving an individual’s health or wellbeing; I would explain to the group individually the benefits from working together, and from taking part in the activities. 3.2: Support group members during the activity in ways that encourage effective communication, active participation and co-operation. During the activity I would encourage the individuals to interact and communicate with others in the group, for example if one of the group members appears to not be getting on as well as the others, I would ask one of the members who is getting on well if they would like to assist, I would actively encourage members to participate even if it was just a small input from the individuals.
QCF Health and Social Care – Level 3 Unit 305 Promote person centred approaches in health and social care Outcome 1 1.1 Explain how and why person-centred values must influence all aspects of health and social care work. Health and social care should be based upon person centred values, and should be individualised, as this is a law requirement (Human Rights Act 1998, Health and Social Care Act 2012, etc.) The Principles of Care are a set of standards which form the foundation on which to build your practice. You need to be aware of why you must promote the values in your day-to-day practice; why you must consider the people you are supporting in promoting these values – their culture, their means of communication, their likes and dislikes, their family, other professionals you may be working with and also your colleagues. These are some of the principles of care: * Individuality * Rights * Choice * Privacy * Independence * Dignity * Respect If person centred values, which should be at the heart of all work in the health and social care sector, are followed as they should be, then all individuals should feel that they are being supported in accessing their rights.
I think organization would be the main component needed to enhance the role and function of a health care manager. A manager must be organized in order to lead, and in order to lead the manager must plan, which is also organization. In any aspect, a health care manager must stay organized to be able to supervise his or her staff members and work alongside the company to reach the intended goals. An organized manager is more capable of running an organized staff which will always be able to provide better health care and quality to the patients. Organization creates a more peaceful environment for co-workers and holds a positive aspect to it that helps motivate each member to do his or her best work while on the job.

Unit 4222-305 Promote person centred approaches in health and social care (HSC 036) O1 Understand the application of person centred approaches in health and social care O1.1 Person centred values must influence all aspects of health and social care work as it is about building everything you do around the individual you are working with. It is about enabling the individual to take control of the planning and delivery of their own support and care system. The key areas of person centred practice are: * Practical and physical support – the day to day living such as personal hygiene, dressing, preparing meals, domestic tasks, shopping and social activities. * Emotional support – take time to talk to the individual and take an interest in what they have to say offering understanding and empathy if needed and listen effectively giving them time to express themselves and always respect their feelings and views. Support and encourage the individual in their choices and give support to help them overcome any difficulties they may encounter.
He explained that all parts of the human function are addressed in the healing journey. Hawkins’ approach would be an appropriate technique to assist a client who is struggling with identity issues. A counselor could use it foster spiritual growth and psychological well being simultaneously. One of the principle ideas behind Hawkins’ theory is the use of a game plan that can be applied to a wide range of individuals. Everyone has different spiritual, psychological and otherwise general experiences.
Direct Payments (DP) is a model which gives the user the money to spend on meeting their assessed needs. DP is intended to promote independence, choice and inclusion…to give recipients control over their own life by providing an alternative to social care services provided by a local authority (DH, 2003, pp. 3-4). The Community Care Act 1996 made DP schemes a reality in 1997. Feedback from users indicated a broad range of beneficial outcomes, including improved self-esteem, increased control over their lives, deeper and more lasting relationships, and new interpersonal, vocational and lifestyle opportunities (p. 65 The
I also would assist and support them on Community access to enable them to participate in activities they enjoy. While doing this I have to maintain the personal confidentiality of the Service user and the Company as a whole. During all my duties I have to comply with Health and Safety procedures to ensure the Safety of the Service user, Staff and others. The aim and values of the Service is to promote the independence of the Service user, allowing them to follow their interests while protecting their rights. 2) By actively engaging with the Service user to determine their preferences and interests and then supporting them in carrying out as much as they are able to do, within the bounds of the Policies and Procedures of the Company and Statutory Legislation.
According to the As level for Edexcel, Health and social care book, by Neil Moonie, there are two key elements to creating a positive care environment. The first being the responsibility of individual care practitioners to challenge behaviours and practices that discriminate against service users; the second is to understand the role of the organisation.
