U.S. Supreme Court Search and Seizure: Arizona vs. Gant 1) The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States Constitution protect against unreasonable searches and seizures of a person and a person’s property. In order to conduct a search, the police must have probable cause and generally, a search warrant is required in order for the police to search. When law enforcement conducts a search without a warrant, the search is per se unreasonable. This means there is a presumption that the search was unreasonable and the burden is on the government to demonstrate that the search was reasonable and not illegal. Search Incident to a Lawful Arrest: The rationale behind this exception is that a person who has been arrested may destroy evidence or use some type of concealed weapon against the arresting officer.

Changing the Security along the U.S and Mexico Border There is no other place in the world where an invisible line draws such a disparity in wealth and lifestyle. There are Mexican refuges that want to come to America for a better life for themselves and their families. There is no easy answer to fix this issue. The Department of Homeland Security was created in response to the Sept. 11th attacks. Their mission is to prevent illegal aliens from entering that cause a threat to American society.

They steal jobs and depress the wages, and this is especially mentioned in the media nowadays when 9 % of the Americans are unemployed. And often when something bad happens, like the unemployment and bad economy, people like to blame someone, and in this particular case, the Hispanic immigrants are the ones to get blamed. To counteract this whole thing, the state of Arizona has now made a new law concerning illegal immigration. Before the law, illegal immigration was a federal crime, so therefore only the Federal Bureau of Investigation took action in these cases. But now, Arizona has announced that, with this new law, any police officer or sheriff has the right to stop any person who looks “suspicious”.
This is not right, or rational that people would risk so much in order to come to the United States, to work a job that most American citizens will not work. Yet we are hateful and mean, protesting, these people rights to make a living and support their families, if the work wasn’t here they would not come. They were either pursuing a better life, new opportunities, or just running away from a political system. Here they found peace, tranquility and opportunity for advancement — the so-called” American Dream”. Illegal immigration is one of the most controversial issues in the United States, but the new the Arizona law has provoked intense debate from Texas to Montana, drawing support in several polls and generating rejection by major civil rights groups. That is, Americans are trying to correct unlawful immigration dilemma with laws that infringe people’s freedom, liberty and equality. Although the federal government stills working on the immigration reform, according to Arizona’s law, it is a state crime not carrying immigration documents.
I believe before we address the issue of what to do with the illegal immigrants that have already intruded into our country, we first need to cut off anymore illegal immigrants from venturing here. There are countless suggestions as to how we should accomplish this task, and there is no right or wrong recommendation. Such ideas include: building a fence along the border, revoking the birthright citizenship, removing the availability of health services and social services to illegal immigrants, and using drones to spot illegal immigrants.
