A cell phone or a mobile phone is a long range portable electronic device used for mobile communication. It uses specialized network base stations called cell sites. Its main function is the standard voice calling of a landline or telephone. In addition to its voice calling function, it can send and receive text messages / word messages called SMS or Short Messaging System which can be the alternate of voice calling. Most of the phones today have the normal limitation of 160 characters per message. Modern phones also have E-mail functions for easier access to personal e-mails, applications like games and music for entertainment purposes and videos and still camera photos for capturing memories of such events. Modern cell phones also can connect to other phones via infra-red connectivity or the latest innovation for more coverage of space, the Bluetooth connectivity. Customers are attracted to buy these mobile phones for 3 reasons: time efficiency, safety, and communication reasons. Time efficiency is one of the top main reasons why cell phones / mobile phones became so popular. With the introduction of cell phone to the market, the synchronized communication helps “soften” (Ling, 2004) a person’s working schedule. Cell phones allow people to get connected and be constantly updated with a small group of individuals as schedules and plans are constantly edited. With this device, people can reach other people anytime and anywhere without such efforts. Now, people have a stronger social coordination or timekeeping than in the past. This time-keeping aspect of the cell phone brings in a strong “micro-coordination” (Ling, 2000) which leads to a stronger bond between individuals of a small social group. Cell phones are also used for safety purposes. As people face unexpected events such as emergency problems, the cell phone becomes the handy critical tool for help
