His argument was an echo of George X. Sands who had written about the unexplained accidents around the triangle in 1952. Later other authors like John Wallace wrote about the same mysterious triangle. The most popular losses that the United States has experienced is the disappearance of the plane of Flight nineteen in December the year 1945, NC16002 plane in December the year 1948, SS Marine Sulphur Queen in 1963 and USS Cyclops in the year 1918. In all these cases disappearance, the planes and the ships have never been traced. This has been used to support the mystery of the Bermuda triangle, although the accidents might have been due to poor weather conditions or mechanical failure.
* Frederick L. Ashworth flew with Sweeney in Bockscar and was responsible for arming the bomb. * The primary target was the city of Kokura. Nagasaki was the secondary target. * Bockscar’s reserve fuel tank was not pumping fuel correctly so the plane could not make use of the extra 600 gallons. * About 40,000 people died in this mission.
A Bitzerian Analysis of Ronald Reagan's Challenger Speech (This essay was written for a graduate level rhetorical theory course. The aim of the assignment was to apply Bitzer's rhetorical model to a an artifact. In this instance I chose the Challenger Speech given on January 28, 1986 after the tragic space shuttle explosion.) Due to the tentative and unpredictable nature of the human condition, some of life’s most emotionally tense moments are thrust upon us without forewarning or prior preparation. The unexpected passing of a family member, friend, or some other significant person is an example of an emotionally tense life situation which calls for immediate response. Since such events strike many chords simultaneously, in the early stages of responding to such loss, it is often difficult for individuals to know how to express themselves as their impressions are still forming.
WHY WAS FLIGHT KAL 007 SHOT DOWN? The mystery of flight KAL 007, 1983 is extremely controversial. A Korean airliner is shot down with two missiles into the Sea of Japan without a fully understandable answer. 269 causalities. Who was responsible for this tragedy?
The top section of the building tilted to the east and to the south and began its descent. The time from aircraft impact to collapse initiation was largely determined by the time for the fires to weaken the perimeter columns and floor assemblies on the east and the south sides of the building. World Trade Center 2 collapsed more quickly than World Trade Center 1 because there was more aircraft damage to the building core, including one of the heavily loaded corner columns, and there were early and persistent fires on the east side of the building, where the aircraft had extensively dislodged insulation from the structural steel. The World Trade Center towers likely would not have collapsed under the combined effects of aircraft impact damage and the extensive, multi-floor fires that were encountered on September11, 2001, if the thermal insulation had not been widely dislodged or
Michael Squillacote 9/28/11 Professor Blum Business paper Challenger Shuttle The Challenger space shuttle was set off to launch on January 28th 1987. This turned into a tragic day for NASA and the United States. At 11:38 am Challenger took of from the launch pad. Everything was going smoothly until 73 seconds into the flight the shuttle disintegrated over the Atlantic Ocean killing seven astronauts. There are a few different theories on what went wrong to the shuttle.
Many believe that the disappearance are caused by supernatural elements. In spite of detailed investigations, science has not been able to explain the exact reasons for the disappearance of ships and aircrafts. The Bermuda Triangle became famous overnight as a result of the Flight 19 incident in 1945, when a group of fighter planes from the United States mysteriously disappeared from this area. This is followed by the disappearance of the aircraft which went as a part of the search operation. The disappearance of many aircrafts and ships left the people wondering as to what was wrong with this region.
Summary/Response Paper: The Ethnic Theory of Plane Crashes Malcolm Gladwell begins chapter seven, The Ethnic Theory of plane crashes.”in part two of his bestselling book Outliers with an abbreviated case history of the of Korean Air Flight 801 on August 5, 1997. In the second segment of the chapter, Gladwell provides information about the poor safety record of Korean Air, and he states the purpose of his chapter by saying that he wants to show how Korean Air “transformed itself from the worst kind of outlier into one of the world’s best airlines”. Gladwell then provides data about other plane crashes such as Columbian airliner Avianca flight 052. In segment four, Gladwell introduces Suren Ratwatte, a pilot who has done extensive research on “human factors”
As they were flying back to base, the Pilots had suddenly reported that their equipment was going crazy. The radio signals were growing weaker, and weaker as if they were flying the wrong way. According to Lee Ann Obringer,’’ The tower began receiving transmissions from the flight leader that they were lost, compasses were not working, and everything looked wrong.’’ There was no longer any sign of Flight 19. An extensive Navy investigation was ordered to search for Flight 19 crew members. After an extended search the Navy had no clues to explain Flight 19 disappearance.
For example, Mary Celeste is called one of the ghost ships because it got lost in the Bermuda Triangle in 1872. Flight DC-3 was 50 miles south of Florida and it was about to land in Miami on December 28, 1991 when it disappeared. In 1991, pilot Grumman Cougar jet made a routine radio request to increase altitude, while ascending the aircraft gradually faded from the radar. Furthermore, the supernatural explanations and causes to the Bermuda triangle have many to come. Some people say that they blame it on the leftover technology.
